"Location is amazing, just across the road is Porta Nigra, on the left is the supermarket, bars and shopping street. The room is clean, towels and linen are white and shiny. There’s some mold in the bathroom, and the bed itself wasn’t comfortable. In general, it was a nice experience! I’d recommend for solo and couples as well!"

"TERRIBLE!!! We had booked online and received an email that everything was fine. Apparently the reception closes at 9am, this was not mentioned. Not even in the confirmation email. We were in such a hurry that we finally arrived at 10:14pm. The woman did not answer at first (owner) but after a while I got an answer. She reported that all her guests were present. NOT SO! Eventually she admitted that we had a booking but she did not think we still needed help, our question where are we sleeping then? Her words literally: NOT MY PROBLEM. Very unfriendly, no hospitality and no information. I travel a lot, but I have never experienced this. Too crazy for words. After a long drive of 4 hours you were on the street at 10:15pm in a place where you do not know anything or anyone. REAL HORROR!!! Eventually we went looking and we found the Park Plaza Hotel, they helped us immediately and found it terrible how it went. We got a great room and top service! Don't go to Astoria, choose Plaza instead and you'll save yourself a sleepless night outside!"

"The room itself was OK , however in the bathroom there was just one small piece of soap and a box of Klennex. No other amenities, such as shower cap, bathroom slipper, comb, shoe horn.. the thing one expects usually from a 4 star Hotel at corresponding prices! The TV had with the exception of an insignificant French station only German channels . It showed CNN etc. but only with the text "no picture - low image" - as a sign of German arrogance?? This when all sorts of disturbing things happen all over the world - with German TV limiting its news during the day and early evening hours to very short Tagesshows mostly talking about Germany only. I think I would have had better in room amenities and TV in a holiday Inn rather than in this self proclaimed 4 star Hotel."
