Great ambience, lovely piping hot mains food, beautifully & promptly presented. Waiting staff were smartly dressed & paid attention to detail. Portions were Huge , but not overbearing & were full of flavour. Menu limited, especially if vegan or vegetarian, but nevertheless good choices. Good range of drinks too. Prices reasonable. Will definitely be visiting again!

Looks like a great place but they are NOT consistent with their published hours. Apparently on Mondays and Tuesday the kitchen closes early “sometimes”. So basically don’t bother trying to get dinner on a Monday or Tuesday after about 6.50pm. If the landlord reads this - I don’t think it's a problem for you to make your hours according to the staff available and the demand. I think it’s a problem if you advertise hours then renege on them.

Visited with friends & we decided we would like to try the new menu from The Garden Room (Wed to Sat only). We all thoroughly enjoyed the Fine Dining experience and would highly recommend trying it. Portion size was generous and the flavours were unbelievable. Staff were attentive & friendly.

Monday lunch service. 10/ 10 Stunning food - all 3 courses were totally delicious. Generous portions too!! The service was very prompt, friendly, and attentive. Pretty setting. I cannot wait to visit in the summer and enjoy the garden in bloom.

We ate here last night the food quality was superb as was the service from the young lady with dark hair and glasses and the Barman with a beard. There service was very attentive and we really loved the twist on the prawn cocktail (defo be back for another one please leave it in the menu) Sadly it was very empty and no background music. If you live in Trent you need to support this fantastic pub as it would be a massive loss to the village..!!!!!

Always a lovely stay at The Rose and crown, Staff are all lovely and knowledgeable, Room very comfortable, everything works and is of good quality. We love the restaurant Always have a very well cooked, imaginative meal, although we had the steak this time,it was one of the best we've had,lovely Dorset apple cake to finish,a perfect get away.

We ate at the Garden Room Thursday night not knowing what to expect, with a brief list of the ingredients for each dish. Putting our trust in the chef we were amazed at the presentation and combination of flavours. Conversations flowed about how the dishes had been clevery put together and flavour some they were. Don't believe there is anywhere local that offers tasting menus at such high quality. We will be back to try some if the other very intriguing dishes. Would highly recommend.

The lunch we experienced was awful. Two of our party were disappointed with the very mediocre food, the third person found it inedible. The empty car park should have been a warning. It certainly is a pub that has lost any sense of food preparation, cooking and serving. A place to avoid at all costs I am afraid.

Nice room, nothing fancy, very good shower comfy bed, little outside area, breakfast was superb! and a great beer garden, cannot really fault the place if I’m honest, I suppose my only gripe would be £6 a pint!!.. after all we are not in London here, but apart from that, it’s a Yes from me 👍🏻
