OMG AC was taped, I gladly paid 200 not to stay there, I made and paid a reservation for 2 days, when i got there it was awful. everything was broken, including the AC. So I decided to leave and ******* didn't refund, like it's not my fault they have deceptive pictures and that place is truly gross. So, i left the same day they kept 200, not even if i got paid 1000 i would sleep there.

The online pictures are 100% inaccurate. The pool now has a black fence around it and there's maybe 2 foot of space between the pool and the fence.So the big deck area showing in their pictures no longer exists. Parking was horrible, only 10 spaces by hotel. If you didn't snag one of those spaces you had to cross a busy 4 lane road go down A block turn a corner to the covered parking. as a solo female traveler. I was not comfortable at all walking from that dark lot to the hotel at night. Missing vertical blinds, mismatched curtains. This place is being torn down this fall, so I guess they just riding out their last summer. I love these old hotels, it's a shame to see a place in this condition.

I read after booking my stay that the hotel will be razed in August 2024 for a new building. That should have been a red flag but on me for missing it. Do yourself a favor and stay at a newer place for 1 less night if you have to, as Sands 77 years are severely showing. Great location but it is long past it's expiration date. A stay I'll never forget, for all the wrong reasons, but loved the area and will definitely be back....

If you just want room on the beach this place is perfect This is a long in the tooth 70 + year beach motel. Has kitchen, limited utensils, direct beach access and pool This is not a resort and has no added resort fees. We love the relaxed atmosphere and the staff are responsive and friendly Kid friendly. If you want to experience the last of an era. This is the place Five stars for what this place gives us as a family

old building of the 50s. Never renovated only bad repainted. Noisy fridge and disgusting bathroom. Seems like a home for alcoholics. Location and staff ok. Save your money and spend 10 more bucks elswhere.

Nasty! Big roaches ! Killed 7 total in our room ! Smoke detectors don’t work! Looked like there was water damage inside dirty door frames! Toaster was the worst thing I’ve ever seen!mattress had huge stains on it ! Made me itch ! And my daughters allergies went crazy! Thank God they are tearing it down!!

This is a hidden gem!! Definitely a older hotel but the charm and atmosphere takes you back in time when life was much more simple and relaxed... I needed a room at the last minute saw mixed reviews so I drove to The Sands they had 1 room left and I asked to see it before I booked it.. Great view, clean and comfortable .. I booked it and enjoyed our stay... Ms. Linda and her housekeeping crew waere awesome and the folks in the front office were great!!!! We will definitely stay here when we travel back to Treasure Island!!! Thanks again we loved it

Funky beach hotel has a great location but could use a facelift and thorough cleaning! Beds are full sized and soft; bathrooms have super low counters that are back breakers for those over 5’4”. Overall cleanliness is sub standard. Sliders in our room were covered in icky kid handprints, floor dirty, tub hairy. The balcony is a blessing as is the short hike to the beach. Ok for a camping style overnight

No parking at all 1 handicap spot and my husband is disabled had to park across the street about a block down. I have never had to park that far away from hotel. Room was very dated dirty curtains were not even all hung on windows. Door barely locked no hand soap to wash your hands bugs in bathroom. I couldn’t wait for the next day to checkout.
