Chrisann's Beach Resort

This was a wonderful, top level 3-star resort (i.e., not high-end, colonized type service) that received our highest rating. Jamaica itself is paradise, which goes without having to say aloud. But I did. Chrisann’s resort has individually owned apartments that are well-maintained by the local staff. Security is good, attentive, but not lockdown, which was fine. The apartment was well-appointed with a fully stocked kitchen. Everything was fine there (a/c, fan, bathroom, dining area, loft bedroom, and living room). Be sure to walk across the street and get low priced takeout from Marshal’s. On the other hand, you’ll pay a lot for Jamaican food from The Tower Isle Restaurant. The Italian restaurant was not so good. Our apartment’s owner (Marian Titus, #10) provided very good details about how to get around. We used Jamoy, who was always courteous and early for pick ups. We chose to jump in crowded taxis for transportation, which cost $1USD. But you can pay $10 USD to get to Ocho Rios, too. Your call. The resort has a nice swimming pool that I swam in daily. There’s a lagoon protected from the harsh sea waters. It’s a good place to frolic, but not swim. Even as a Black man, I loved laying out in the sun and doing absolutely nothing. It was low season, so it wasn’t busy. Everyone is friendly. The resort is located just outside of Ocho Rios, but that’s what we wanted - to not be in the middle of everything. We highly recommend this resort.

A little paradise in paradise. Our first visit to Jamaica and will not be our last. A little oasis self contained apartment with every thing you need. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we drove through the gates until we left. Nothing was too much trouble and the apartment was kept clean and tidy by our fabulous house maid Simone and her work colleagues. The pool was clean, warm and safe which led to the perfect sea cove for a spot of snorkelling. Local shops and restaurants safe and recommended. Plenty of nearby attractions meant little travelling or you can be picked up for more adventurous excursions. Something for everyone from young to old. Our host could not be more welcoming and accommodating checking we had everything. We just wished we could have stayed longer.

I cannot say enough about this place- Chrisann’s - and about our apartment -number 9, and the staff working here! The place is very clean and well equipped with kitchen necessities, towels, bedding, etc. The maid, Simone, was helpful and available as needed. She came as requested and provided us with a lot of information about where to visit. Oshea from the front desk was also friendly and helpful, giving us tips for getting around and making reservations for us. Our host, Dulcia, was amazing. We had lots of pre-trip questions as well as questions during our stay. She always answered in a most timely manner and provided us with information about what to see and how to get around. During our stay, we visited Blue Mountain and did the bike tour. It was great. An easy day trip. Dunn’s River Falls and Mystic Mountain are also very close to the resort, as is the Blue Hole. Dulcia kindly provided us with the name of a driver, Cal, who was easily available to get us back and forth to places, including the airport! This apartment was a home away from home. We were so pleased to stay here.
