The Royal Hotel

Really friendly staff, comfy bed and good location. Rather dated facilities, I guess understandably. Noise leakage between rooms.

Absolutely wonderful stay, ideally located and the staff were incredibly helpful & friendly. Will definitely come again.

The hotel had lovely spacious rooms with high ceilings. Everyone was quite helpful and did enjoy the dinner at the hotel

This hotel is quite incredible. Exquisite throughout, with glamour not usually experienced in hotels these days. You feel at home from the moment you arrive. Friendly, efficient happy staff. The food is delicious, and service is great. Well appointed room with gorgeous high ceilings and fitments We especially enjoyed the residents lounge, with it's lovely atmosphere and comfy winged back chairs. There is even Tarka the Otters track right next door, for an early morning jog. Across the river (2 mins walk) are all the shops too. We will definitely be returning. Thank you The Royal!

My husband and I stayed at The Royal and I felt compelled to write this review, something I don't do often!. From our very first call to enquire about their rooms and packages to our actual stay. I could not fault anything, our room, the staff, the food, the attenion to detail and the customer service, were all excellent, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time and only wish it could have been longer. We shall not hesitate to return. A huge shout out to Morgan and Amanda who really went above and beyond, I can honestly say it made a real difference to our stay. Thank you to every one at the Royal Hotel, keep up the excellent and work and please don't change a thing!

The hotel offers different grades of rooms we opted for a comfort double with additional space sleeping upto four people. That wasn't what were allocated . Room 215 was barely 9mtrs square, had a broken set of drawers and a plywood box in the corner in leiu of a wardrobe and a chair which hampered movement in to the bathroom. The bathroom was covered in black mould around the bath which worsened during our stay as the grout applied the cover the mould washed off during showering. The fans for the kitchen ran at the side of the room from around 6.30am to 11.00 -11.30pm When we highlighted that we were not happy we were told tough. If we checked out early we was told there would be no refund. The hotel had already taken payment the day before our arrival using the details provided to reserve the room. Additionally the lift was broken and had been for at least three weeks but the hotel emailed us the night before wording it as though it had just occurred. The free parking is on two levels. The top carpark involves a steep slope and a flight of concrete stair and then the crossing of a very busy road. The hotel its self is on the corner of a very busy roundabout and opposite a noisy construction site, which is not highlighted in the hotel description We would not recommend this hotel

This hotel has proved time and again that service is EVERYTHING. The team are polite and friendly without being over bearing, the training must be top notch. I look forward to my stays here, the menu leaves me conflicted as there are several options that I'd like to choose and the quality of the dishes is fabulous
