My review may be different from other's experience, but I got a room that fits on the option that I payed for. As I am not a picky traveller, I was okay that I got single room with private bathroom. If you are a traveller who walks a lot and takes transportation and woman, you may want to be little bit careful as surroundings are houses and dark at night time. Streetcars and the nearest subway are not that far (streetcars: about 5 mins / subway: 10 mins). At dawn, if you want to buy something, you need to go to convenience store which is about 15-20 mins away. If you are nighttime traveller and active at nighttime, you may want to choose different place. Otherwise, I think this is a budget-matching place to take a sleep. My room didn't have hair dryer, so be aware of this lol. Beside some parts, I was okay with staying here. Refrigerator and microwave was there so I had some latenight meal, so this was good. During summer, this is going to be little harsh as it didn't have air conditioner (or the ventilator may give you a cool air during summer; I had hot air as I travelled in winter).

The jazz bar was lovely with excellent music. Such a shame that hotel guests have to pay to attend - it really should be a perk of staying. Nice food, basic and reasonably priced. Friendly bar staff. The hotel itself fell way below expectations I'm afraid. No lift, and no assistance with luggage, not really a problem, but not very welcoming. Very small dingy room. Very small bed with a very thin mattress. No cupboard or hanging space. Very noisy from the street. Really needs decent double glazing. Small shower room with black tiles which hide the fact that it could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. We had a double room with shower. The public bathroom didn't look great. Very drab decor throughout. No tea/coffee facilities. It did have a TV and a hairdryer. I've stayed in basic hotels before, but this one really needs some TLC. It is in a good location with a large public carpark next door (we had a hire car, so this was good). It really could be lovely if it was given some attention. The price was good.

The specific room for the son wasn't very clear. The son said that it was just for the convenience of staying one night, and he would have to catch a Toronto plane tomorrow morning. No breakfast ...

Our room was big and comfortable, the parking garage down the street was inexpensive and felt very safe, and the staff were very nice. The only cons were that the bathroom doesn’t have a door so there was really no privacy when using the facilities. Also the entrance is not handicapped accessible which was not an issue for us but could be for some people.
