Homewood Suites by Hilton Topeka

Very clean suite. Bed was comfortable but pillows were too soft for my liking. Breakfast was subpar with very few choices. I had read a previous review about hearing other guests in rooms above and that’s exactly what we experienced. Was awakened by loud footsteps from the room above us @ 5:45am. Overall, I liked the accommodations.

The breakfast is awful! Stop it with the egg folded over cheese. Gross! And the watered down juices. We were in room 326. Checked in on 4-18. Dealt with children running up above us in the mornings. Jumping and screaming. Friday evening after 11 pm there was jumping, running and screaming. Same Saturday morning. We had a funeral to go to Saturday morning. Came back around 1 pm. Started up again. Felt like it was above us but then it also felt like it was beside us because they were banging on the walls. I finally called the front desk. Spoke to a young lady which she said she would handle it. I waited 10 minutes. It only got worse. Called back and asked if she did anything about it yet she said no. I was pissed. Ask for manager. Told him what was going on and he needed to do something about it and hung up. He called back and said no guests were booked upstairs. I said I don’t know what to tell him but I’ve been dealing with this off and on since we checked in. I think an employee had either their kids or family there at the hotel keeping them in rooms that weren’t occupied. Y’all need to get a handle on this if your employees are doing this. It isn’t right to disturb paying customers!

Cons: You will be able to hear every movement of every neighbor, as well as every conversation and tv show they watch. We were kept up until 2 AM by several neighbors. I had a sound machine going as well as a sound machine app on my phone. I couldn't believe how I could hear every single little thing from surrounding neighbors. The intensity of the noise was like being under and next to a bowling alley. Pros: Gorgeous hotel, huge rooms, very clean, comfortable beds, great location, lots of shared spaces downstairs near the lobby. The pros don't outweigh the cons. We will be staying at another hotel next time we visit Topeka.

This property is located in a quiet business park area that is surrounded by a lot of state and local government related agencies. It is still close to the highway. There are plenty of restaurants and other retail options nearby. The property is clean and the amenities are abundant like a pool, a game room, a fitness center and a spacious lobby. I would like to give a shout out to Aaron who worked the front desk during my check in. The night I was there they had light refreshments and snacks from 5-7. It was nice. The room was spacious, but I am not a fan of the bathroom sink area on the outside. It wakes up others that are still sleeping. The bathroom toilet area seemed a bit worn. The lighting was very limited and the room seemed dark. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom area which was a nice touch. The breakfast was fine…nothing great, but clean. I would recommend this hotel. It was a pleasant stay.

I had a wonderful Stay. I loved the look of the hotel. The check in and check out process was great. I love being able to unlock the doors with my phone. Wonderful amenities. The room was beautiful. I like having a full-size refrigerator. Great location. It was close to plenty of places to eat. The only negatives were the breakfast was not very tasty, the bed was uncomfortable, and we found a dead bug in the restroom the first night and killed another one in there the next. They do have a policy of not cleaning the rooms each day unless requested. When I stay at a hotel, I liked to feel spoiled. One of things I always liked was to come home after a long day of exploring is to a room where the bed is made, the trash has been dumped and fresh towels. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful, clean and roomy rooms and bathroom. Large shower. Kitchenette has everything and the fridge is a good size. Love having a ceiling fan over the bed. Parking easy. Not a noisy hotel at all. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops.

We stayed in a very nice suite with a small, full kitchen. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet, and the staff friendly. It was near the freeway, but we didn't hear any traffic noise. The breakfast was decent. The only drawback was the fitness room was adjacent to the pool and too warm to really work out.

We enjoyed a good stay at the Homewood Suites in Topeka. Our one-bedroom suite was clean and comfortable. We appreciated that our request for a quiet room location was honored. The living room/kitchen provided sofa, ottoman, upholstered chair, TV, drawer space, occasional tables, lamps for adequate lighting, full kitchen with two-burner stovetop, microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and small table with two chairs as well as plates, flatware, and glasses for four. The cabinet holds limited cookware, utensils, and a toaster. We loved the ability to cook/reheat food. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable with king bed, chest, and two bedside tables with lamps. The sink/vanity area is open to the bedroom while the tub/shower and toilet are in an inner room. A nice-sized closet holds a luggage rack. Our only criticism is the placement of the light switch for the bathroom on the wall outside the bath making it difficult to use the inner bathroom during the night without disturbing the spouse with bright light. Overall, the suite is a great space for an extended stay. Both the bedroom and living room have a LG TV with clear cable and plenty of channels. And both rooms have a thermostat for comfortable room temperatures. Breakfast each morning was hot, varied, and tasty. Homewood Suites always provides a good start to the day. The one disappointment was the Wednesday social which provided very few snacks with drinks -- not nearly enough for the number of hotel guests attending.

First, the host at check-in was great, friendly, welcoming, and professional and got us checked in quickly. Then, these rooms are generously sized with a living room/kitchen area and separate bedroom. Even a full size refrigerator! The kitchen even had some basic utensils. All is decorated in very calming gray tones, modern and understated with some cool abstact art. Super comfortable bed. Room was very clean. Very cool that each room area had its own thermostat and there was a ceiling fan in bedroom. Other staff were also helpful and friendly. Pool and jaccuzzi were pretty basic but fine. There was a nice seating area outside. This hotel is also near to a TON of eating places. But it is actually on a nice quiet street. I am so glad we found this place and the price was super reasonable for all this…Great!
