We stayed 7 nights at the hotel, check in was smooth and simple with Lisa. Our room was ok not spectacular just ok, the air conditioning could be better, however the ocean view was amazing. All the staff are amazing a special shout out to Susan, Pamela and Diamond for their hospitality, there was also a young guy but i cant remember his name he served us for breakfast and lunch in the early part of our stay. Thanks to Troy for showing me where to get the beach towels which was located in the lobby this did not make much sense to me. The food was good but there needed to be more variety, Rachel had a tough job each morning making omelettea but they tasted really good. I was disappointed that the buffet evening meal was not available most nights considering we paid for all inclusive. I could not understand how a carnival event was being held at the hotel which we would have loved to attend but they did not advertise it within the hotel I only knew about it due to social media, it was not clear how to purchase tickets and I think we should have been able to attend for free. The salon is located in a different building not quite in the hotel, I was provided with a lift on the little buggy but it was not available to pick me up. It's a shame that they only have one for such a big hotel. On our final day our toilet was blocked I called the lobby for it to be sorted and expected it to be done when we returned after breakfast. It wasn't, I can only assume it was not done because we would be leaving that day. Not a good end to a lovely holiday. What really makes this hotel great is the staff who need to be commended for their hard work and dedication and ensuring we were well looked after.

Having just spent 10 nights at this lovely hotel where the staff made you feel so welcome and like family. The room was spacious all ocean view cleaned every day but did expect a coffee machine as it says in the hotel description .The only negative about our stay was the buffet only open for breakfast and Fri Sat Eve which left the Crusoe bar where menu was limited and wait time for food and drinks was up to 2 hours and sometimes you never got your drinks.Kalina restaurant was very nice when it was open but again not open every night .Pamela and Susan at breakfast were lovely, Daniel at lunch was also lovely.Lisa always around reception spoke to us every day to see how we were .The hotel is set in beautiful grounds along with Golf course .

Overall the Magdalena Grand is a great hotel in a lovely location by the sea although there's not quite enough beach to set yourself up for sunbathing etc. Beware of flotsam being slammed into your legs by the sea when walking along the beach in the water at high tide. All rooms are well equipped with a seafront balcony. Unlike some other reviews, we had no problems with our room. It was quiet when we stayed (mid Oct) so the Tavaco lounge and Benné cafe were closed and the other facilities had reduced opening times to those given on the hotel website. I guess this is also why the hotel was lacking in evening entertainment. Apart from a fabulous singer in the buffet restaurant on a Friday evening it only consisted of karaoke or YouTube streaming on a wavy screen in the pub. Aside from the golf course, pool and bar, it would be nice to have other things to do during the day such as mini golf, pool and table tennis. We stayed for 2 weeks so although the food was very good and chefs deserve credit, we had exhausted the lunch and dinner menus after the first week and could have done with either new menus in the second week or more options. Service varied enormously even though there were plenty of staff. A special shout-out to Pamela who was a fabulous host at the Breakfast buffet and Lunch at Salaka as she looked after us so well. Daniel was fast, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. One of the sweetest human beings on earth is Zacurii who works in the pub most days from lunchtime until closing. He served us during a quiet time and was a fantastic waiter and when seeing us at other times always greeted us with a smile and a wave. We, and other guests, grew to like him a lot during our stays. Sometimes, at busy periods, the service in the pub was let down by poor processes or procedures with some guests waiting 2 hours for their food or the wrong food turning up. We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks one evening and another time they just didn't arrive at all. Our first and last experiences of the fine dining restaurant, Kalina, were perfect with a very attentive host, Adrian, telling us everything about the food options, keeping our drinks refreshed, updating us on our orders and hoping that we would return again soon. On another visit with a different waitress we felt a little rushed and as if we were being a burden. Full marks to the chefs not only for their cooking but also their presentation. Towards the end of our stay the heat of Tobago started to get to us and we wished that more areas of the hotel were air conditioned as we found ourselves seeking refuge from the heat in our room as most common areas of the hotel were exposed to the outside air which remained hot even during the night. In summary we enjoyed our stay at the Magdalena Grand hotel and felt that we experienced good value for money. Although the hotel could make a few simple changes to improve their guests' experience; we left feeling we had had a good holiday

Visited Kali'na restaurant located in Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort, with hopes of having a nice celebratory dinner for my birthday but was extremely disappointed. The restaurant boasts on their page that "Kali’na’s menu is a reflection of Tobago’s culinary history with Indian, African, European, and Asian influence delivering a cuisine that is “bold”, explosive in flavour, eclectic and addictive." But this was far from so. I ordered the Lamb which was quite tough and chewy, it accompanied very bland mash potatoes and a few veggies. My partner ordered the Catch of the Day which was Mahi Mahi again tough and flavourless, alongside some saffron rice and sweet potato. Neither of these two meals were tasty or was an explosion of flavour. What made this dining experience even worst, the supervisor came across after hearing of our underwhelming meals and defended the meals by saying both the buffet and the Robinson Crusoe Pub have a greater level of flavour and that she never heard of any sort of bad experiences before.... So in other words, agreeing that this so-called fine dining restaurant offers below par flavours and if we wanted more we should go elsewhere... Make it make sense please. Horrible experience. Will never visit again.

We loved the entire experience at Magdalena. Excellent service and the staff are courteous and very professional. It's great place to relax and rejuvenate with family and friends or even while on a business trip. I definitely plan to return on my next visit to Tobago.

On arrival, we noticed that the reception area has no air conditioning and later we found that it can get oppressive on a hot day. This is the main meeting area and the nearest air-conditioned area is the Robinson Crusoe "pub" which opens at 3pm. The Tavaco Lounge, which is also next to the reception area was not open during our stay. All rooms have a sea view and air conditioning. Our room had a bathroom, with bath, washbasin and separate shower. The water was usually hot, but on two days it was just about lukewarm warm. The wrong type of shower head was in the fitting, so the jet of water sprayed horizontally. With a bit of adjustment I managed to get it to spray at about 45 degrees, which was adequate. Shampoo, body wash, and soap bars were supplied. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom. Face cloths were usually supplied, although missing on two days. There was a fridge (empty), and a kettle for making tea or coffee. Tea and coffee sachets were provided. The hotel description said there was a coffee maker in the room. The kettle failed whilst we were there, but was quickly replaced. The bed was king-size and there was a large flat screen television. We didn’t switch on the TV, so don’t know what channels were available. There was a wardrobe with handing space and drawers in the wardrobe. A safe was also in the wardrobe. Not all restaurants were open and the choice did not change. The menus remained the same. The food was good, especially the prawn platter in the Robinson Crusoe pub. However, be prepared for loud music at times with a heavy bass beat. It would be better if music was chosen to suit the tastes of the clientele, rather than the bar staff. The entertainment was not as advertised on the hotel web site; Rhythmic beat of the steel pan at our Sunday Brunch - that didn't happen Soothing sounds of our Jazzy Sundays at Tavaco Lounge - it was closed. Grand Tobago Night every week at the Pembois Restaurant and Terrace" - that didn't happen. Be entertained by cultural performances - didn't see any OK, it was out of season, so the web site need to reflect that. One of the reasons we booked was the advertised entertainment. One night was Karaoke and another was an open mic night. In other words, let the guests entertain themselves! The pool area was good, with plenty of sun loungers. The WiFi was unusable for a lot of the time, so you may want to purchase an eSIM before your visit. Most of the hotel has a 4G signal from Digicel, the main network provider. Beware of exchanging currency at reception. It’s convenient, but rates are not the best. At the time of visit the rate on credit card purchases was 8.99 TT for 1 GBP. Reception rate was 7 TT for 1 GBP. Thanks go to Pamela, Diamond, Valerie, Nigel and Lisa for making our stay extra special.

The rooms were very dated even though comfy. We arrived late due to delay our end the hotel buffet was kept open for us which was a nice touch. Very limited facilities that we weren’t warned about. Same menus every day all week lunch and dinner.
