On arrival, we noticed that the reception area has no air conditioning and later we found that it can get oppressive on a hot day. This is the main meeting area and the nearest air-conditioned area is the Robinson Crusoe "pub" which opens at 3pm. The Tavaco Lounge, which is also next to the reception area was not open during our stay. All rooms have a sea view and air conditioning. Our room had a bathroom, with bath, washbasin and separate shower. The water was usually hot, but on two days it was just about lukewarm warm. The wrong type of shower head was in the fitting, so the jet of water sprayed horizontally. With a bit of adjustment I managed to get it to spray at about 45 degrees, which was adequate. Shampoo, body wash, and soap bars were supplied. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom. Face cloths were usually supplied, although missing on two days. There was a fridge (empty), and a kettle for making tea or coffee. Tea and coffee sachets were provided. The hotel description said there was a coffee maker in the room. The kettle failed whilst we were there, but was quickly replaced. The bed was king-size and there was a large flat screen television. We didn’t switch on the TV, so don’t know what channels were available. There was a wardrobe with handing space and drawers in the wardrobe. A safe was also in the wardrobe. Not all restaurants were open and the choice did not change. The menus remained the same. The food was good, especially the prawn platter in the Robinson Crusoe pub. However, be prepared for loud music at times with a heavy bass beat. It would be better if music was chosen to suit the tastes of the clientele, rather than the bar staff. The entertainment was not as advertised on the hotel web site; Rhythmic beat of the steel pan at our Sunday Brunch - that didn't happen Soothing sounds of our Jazzy Sundays at Tavaco Lounge - it was closed. Grand Tobago Night every week at the Pembois Restaurant and Terrace" - that didn't happen. Be entertained by cultural performances - didn't see any OK, it was out of season, so the web site need to reflect that. One of the reasons we booked was the advertised entertainment. One night was Karaoke and another was an open mic night. In other words, let the guests entertain themselves! The pool area was good, with plenty of sun loungers. The WiFi was unusable for a lot of the time, so you may want to purchase an eSIM before your visit. Most of the hotel has a 4G signal from Digicel, the main network provider. Beware of exchanging currency at reception. It’s convenient, but rates are not the best. At the time of visit the rate on credit card purchases was 8.99 TT for 1 GBP. Reception rate was 7 TT for 1 GBP. Thanks go to Pamela, Diamond, Valerie, Nigel and Lisa for making our stay extra special.
