This is our 2nd visit staying at The Mill House Inn and we had the most wonderful week. The room was lovely. It was clean and comfortable. The food was lovely with a good choice for breakfast and lovely food coming out of the restaurant. New on the menu is pizza which is highly recommended and also the Sunday lunches. Thank you to Jo and Stu the new owners and to all your wonderful team. We had an amazing week and we will definitely be returning again.

Thankyou to all at the Millhouse!! Had a lovely 5 night stay. New owners Jo and Stu are slowly working through renovations and updating but it’s hard to do when you are fully booked! Was lovely to hear the enthusiasm for the new plans. We will be watching from up north to see how it all goes .. see you soon in a newly spruced up room !! *waving* to Hannah, Nikki, Giles,Julia and Cody .. well done on all the smiles through some tough transition times .. seems to me you are in good hands .. x

Food was decent (we all enjoyed it) but the restaurant lacked any atmosphere and was sort of tagged onto the main pub. Looks like it’s under new ownership so clearly some work to do but again can’t knock the food. Would recommend if you are staying in the area

Stayed here for one night in the family room. Sadly, the room was worn, dirty and unloved. Mismatched furniture, handles falling off furniture, skirting boards coming off the walls and a lot of dust/grime everywhere. We wouldn’t let our children sleep in the room with bunk beds (nor did they want to) as it was smelly and full of dust. If you have allergies (which I do), you’ll be sure that they are triggered staying in the family room. Carpets need replacing and are sticky and worn. WiFi didn’t work in our room either. Towels and sheets were clean, which was made the stay marginally bearable. Plus there was hot water for showers/baths. Staff are friendly and the breakfast was very nice. But it wouldn’t be enough to bring me back! Was happy to leave! Trust the reviews which say how dirty the rooms are :-(

Went and had dinner a couple times here as we were staying near by. Both times we booked a table. We were seated in a separate area from the original pub and pool table into a room with a printed off ‘breakfast’ sign on the door. Clearly a room used for breakfast in the morning. Where there was no music and three members of moody staff. The staff only came to ask for drinks and food once. They never came back to check or ask for more drinks or regularly check on the table and they were no where to be seen for majority of the meal. Strange area for dinner as no staff around as all in separate area of the pub. Food was standard, although don’t get the risotto as was bad and not even made with arborio rice.

Bonne nourriture, certains plats etaient très bons, ambiance très sympathique avec les clients autour du billard-fléchettes + les serveuses Kim et Codi agréables et attentionnées. En plus les enfants sont bienvenus!! Bière locale recommandée au passage

Do not stay here . This “inn” is dirty , small rooms , uncomfortable beds , lots of stairs (no elevators - definitely not a place for anyone that is mobility challenged ) minimal amenities with broken furnishings and at least one condescending employee. Here’s some of the issues we encountered . The WiFi ONLY works in the breakfast area . The WiFi DOES NOT WORK in your actual room . You will NOT have cell service at the Mill House therefore having WiFi to power your cellular data is important - you won’t have WiFi here unless you stay in the breakfast area which is not close to where your room will be. The employee on duty insisted if you connect to their WiFi in the breakfast area it will work in your room - IT WILL NOT WORK in your room. I observed other guests also complain about the lack of advertised WiFi. Let’s talk about the room. Our room was tiny , barely enough space to turn around in . The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable . There was a layer of dust on the dresser . There were spiders webs . There was an actual spider in the room - granddaddy long legs . There was an exposed screw that I scratched my leg on where a drawer knob was broken off . Inside the bathroom , the toothbrush holder was broken and caused a mess with the faucet at one point . Also , there is NO AIR CONDITIONING in the rooms . On the day we stayed , it was very hot . The room we were assigned was facing the sun so it caused our room to bake despite have the curtain drawn and window open . There was a heated towel rack in the bathroom that was not able to be turned off (the hotel employee did not know how to turn it off either ) so that contributed to the heat . We ended up having to literally prop our room door open as it was cooler in the hallway because there were no windows . Please note , the hotel DOES NOT offer fans for the rooms on those warm summer days . Let’s talk about the premises . The carpets are dirty - the reception and breakfast area is dark and run down. There is minimal lighting outside at night therefore when we were unloading our luggage at night it was difficult to see . My sister was also injured by a broken rain gutter outside the reception door . She could barely see due to the lack of lighting and as she walked up the steps she placed her hand on the stoop post with the rain gutter attached to it . Part of the gutter fell on her shoulder /head . Because there were so many safety issues with our stay we conveyed our concerns to the employee on duty . We were met with dismissive remarks and condescending comments . At one point , the employee told my sister to calm down (my sister was simply conveying the importance of repairing the gutter that fell on her so it doesn’t hurt a future guest ). The employee kept saying she couldn’t help where the gutter was located totally missing the point it is broken, unsecured and a safety concern for guests . The employee also hinted that I must have broken the knob in the room where

The room was worn out. We had a superior room, goodness knows what the others are if this was superior, the bathroom door had peeling paint , the bath panel too. There was a large old bath and a shower but no curtain so I got the floor soaking wet and when I mopped it up with the towel the towel was brown. The sofa was so worn when I sat on it I could feel the wooden supports. Yes the location is nice and the bar was nice. The food in the restaurant was awful, the 30 pound priced steak looked and tasted like it had been broiled, we did not complain as no one came to ask how it was. If you do stay take a packed lunch. We will never stay there again.

Well, we were looking for a 1 night stay in this region, I'd looked at the reviews, and food looked amazing, and to be absolutely truthful was definitely not disappointed!! 2 out of the 3 party ordered fish and chips, All freshly cooked, and fish was as fresh as, melted on your tongue!! We also orderd chips and chicken lollipops, which again were amazing!!! Breakfast was all cooked fresh!!! Staff fab, and friendly, new pool table, hosts are new!!! 2 months in, give them support, they are going to be updating all accommodation, as and when they can, I'd definitely recommend, it's a historic old mill, from 16th to 17th heritage!! Well worth a trip, whether it's a stay, lunch or dinner!!! ps. They are renowned for there Sunday lunch, so best to pre book ! We will definitely be booking again next Yr! Thank you for a lovely stay, see you next yearxxx
