This was our first stay at the Prince Arthur Hotel. The neighbourhood looks a little sketchy but we had no problems and they do have a Security Guard stationed in the front lobby. I wouldn't recommend walking around outside by yourself after dark. The front desk staff were very nice. Our room was clean, albeit a little old and dated. There was some traffic noise due to the air conditioner in the window which looks out to a busy street but it wasn't awful. We had a lovely view of the Waterfront. There is an EXCELLENT Thai Restaurant just steps away from the Hotel. 'Thai Kitchen'. Go! The Hotel is in a nice location and you can go for a nice walk in the park across the street.

The hotel has an old-world charm including the older tape reel elevator telling you what floor it is on. It even has a sign that says it works, just slow. The rooms are retro fit to have electricity and plug-ins, but you can tell this place was around even before then. The bed was comfortable, the view towards the water was perfect for sunrise/sunset views and the shower was perfect.

This hotel was very quiet. It had comfortable beds and very large rooms. Everything was clean. The hotel seems tired and needs a huge investment to bring it up to the next level. As it is - it’s a one/ two night kind of place. If you are going to be out all day then it will be great. It was nice to be near the water instead of straying by the highway in a motel with no view. If you are looking for a corporate hotel (best western etc) then this is not for you. Otherwise it’s fine.

The room was nice, clean enough, but the noise level from the trains and the traffic made it impossible to sleep. Yes, the view from the 5th floor on the lake side is beautiful, but we had not realized that the trains ride all night and break in front of the hotel. So, all night you are hearing metal against metal breaking train wheels. So, if it is a good night sleep that you want, either ask for the STREET side or go elsewhere.

Stayed here because literally every other hotel was full.....never again. Would give it a minus rating if I could. What a dump, would have had a nicer stay if I was in a tent on the street. Poor maintenance, paper thin walls, worn out just about everything and having to worry about running the gauntlet of street beggars. Garbage and food strewn through the hall. Being continually kept up by drunks in the hallway at 2 am

We appreciated the old charm of the building. It was clean and had everything we needed. We found it very quiet. Easy parking. Lake side gave us an incredible view of the lake and the Sleeping Giant. Walking distance to restaurants. Morning walk to the waterfront was a nice bonus. Close enough to the hospital for medical appointment.

Our room did not have air conditioning and was overall dirty. It’s an old building but it was not sanitary. When we decided to cancel our two night reservation we had issues refunding the second night. We got refunded for one night but it was a struggle. Would not come again.

The locks on the door didn’t even work, the chain was just hanging by one screw and it came out of the wall just picking it up to lock it.
