Beautiful hotel grounds and hotel building, amazing food and service. However some areas could do with updating. Staff were friendly and efficient.

We celebrated my father's 99th birthday at Eshott Hall on Saturday 19th October with a small group of family and friends. The venue was perfect, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the afternoon tea was delicious. What a brilliant venue. Thank you to everyone who made the afternoon so special.

Eshott Hall ticks so many boxes. Tucked away in its own grounds in a very rural setting you feel a sense of peace and isolation. However, you are only a 5 minute drive from the A 1, only a short distance away from the stunning Northumberland Coast and very well located for visiting the primary attractions of Northumberland such as Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Castle etc. It is also a great base for cycling or playing golf at one of many local courses. All this before we mentioned the hotel itself and its fabulous range of rooms, great food and great service. If it is a hidden gem then it certainly shouldn't be.

This is a little gem that shouldn't be missed. It's a delightful place; grand but not overbearing, and the service is spot-on. All the staff are very friendly, and make you feel at home. Samantha deserves a special mention; she chats to everyone and has a very infectious personality - a real asset! The rooms are very comfortable and spacious (they're even named!), and the food was delicious. We'd happily stay again in future, and would heartily recommend it.

We were so looking forward to staying here but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. I fully understand these big old buildings take a lot of upkeep but we had a voucher from our children for a Best room, dinner bed and breakfast. The room was huge and impressive but the panelling was all cracked and cobwebs over a lot of it. No lighting to be able to put your make up on. The bathroom was hidden behind some panelling , cracked tiles basic bathroom, mainly clean just a grease mark round the bath - also a very slippy bath - I slipped and badly bruised my thigh of which I still have the bruise. The mirror in the bathroom was too high and had a pattern along the bottom that meant you couldn’t see your face The bed was comfy but the pillows awful The food was really nice and the service great. We were charged an extra £130 for what I’m not sure - we had a 3 course but nothing really fancy 1x chicken 1 x sea bass and a large glass each of very nice wine - expected to pay extra for the wine We didn’t complain as it was our anniversary and just wanted a lovely time which we did.

Room was very dusty, carpet all marked, grout in tiles dirty. Mirror top on dressing table broke and taped with black tape. Our room was the veg patch. Generator/heating came on each morning noise was so loud it woke us up and Food on evening and at breakfast was poor.

We stayed at Eshott hall for 1 night prior to attending a local event the following day. Our room was lovely and massive. The property itself is secluded and quiet. We had a wonderful delicious dinner in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great property and excellent value for money.

We stayed for 2 nights on a dinner bed and breakfast package, which were both very enjoyable. Making allowances for the premises being a traditional country house with most of its beautiful features preserved, our room was comfortable as well as characterful. We slept well. Staff were friendly and helpful. The meals were cooked wonderfully and were well enjoyed. The location is convenient, just a mile of so from the A1, but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. We will return.
