Magnuson Hotel Texarkana

I booked the room through Priceline and when I arrived the front desk clerk said they didn’t have any non smoking rooms available and only had smoking rooms available I asked if I could see the room clerk walked me up to a room upstairs and when he opened the door a foul odor what smelled like cigarette smoke, poop and mildew I informed the clerk that I could not stay in that room he then showed me another smoking room and it smelled the same I could not stay in that room either and I wanted my money back he to contact Priceline. Priceline called hotel while I was still on the property the clerk had disappeared and was no where in sight so I gave Priceline the the number that was displayed at front desk they called and the person that answered yelled and screamed at rep for calling the number provided now I’m getting the run around trying to get my money back since they ran my credit card! I recommend that you never consider this hotel or Priceline for that matter because dispite what I reported to them they are standing with the hotel

We arrived at the hotel to discover that it was under renovation. The WIFI was down and the fridge didn't work in the room. We needed a fridge for medical reasons so were unable to stay. The Staff was super understanding and accommodating and gracious! We were very pleased with how we were treated. Maybe the next time we are passing through they will be finished their renos and we would be willing to try again.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. The vintage aesthetics are really cool. Over the past few years I've stayed here more than a few times. The new owners are really making this place significantly better than before. You have a choice of smoking or non, plus pets and kids stay free. 🙃🤗 Oh, and they have enhanced security features. No riff raff, lurkers, or funny business allowed. Which was a problem in the past. With the front desk attentive, and always doing their best to meet the customers needs, and housekeeping services that are unmatched; things are looking up. Thanks to the owners and staff for their amazing hospitality, and revamp of this home away from home!

I've stayed for a few days and haven't had any issues. My first night, my heat didn't work. I called down to the desk and they moved me to another room. Any other issues I've had have been handled promptly. Most of the people live here, but it's pretty quiet at night. I've seen most reviews complain about a smell. Here's a tip, whenever you travel and no matter where you stay, bring your own cleaning supplies and air freshener. That way, you won't have to complain about things that can be avoided. Overall, this hotel is in a nice location and affordable if you're on a tight budget.

So I drove 500 miles and I read the reviews on this place. I was horrified I was scared as being a single woman. Checked in around 12 AM. There were sketchy people walking all over the place. There was a guy hallucinating right next to hotel room. Two cars blocked me in. Loud music from the car. Very sketchy people. They were walking all over the place. I walked into the room I felt dirty. The carpets never been cleaned the counters never been wiped, the tub was full of grime and I tried to clean it and I cut my finger. I ran out of that place so fast ! Please don’t ever use this place at all if you value your life! I heard it was a new owner and he could care less about the premises. This place should not even be on any hotel website whatsoever! It is very dangerous!
