Hotels in The Old North, Tel Aviv

Have just Stayed at Jacob Samuel for 7 nights with friends. We reserved 3 rooms and mine was a Deluxe with Balcony. The rooms are modern and well maintained with good lighting as well as being fully equipped with an efficient and silent air conditioner. I would especially like to commend Yariv the duty manager as well as Svetlana at the front desk for making our stay exceptional.In addition the Room cleaning staff who did an excellent job . There is an also a very good restaurant at the property (separately owned) and a Bar in the Basement with top quality cocktails to enjoy. Even though the hotel is in a busy area with a main road the rooms are double glazed and almost silent. In fact I was so impressed overall I am coming back with my family in August and have changed hotels to stay at the Jacob Samuel .

The room was in a great location, just three blocks from the beach and in the heart of the Dizengoff area, which contains a ton of cute cafes and wine bars and shops! The room was also so much larger than expected, clean and spacious, with a little desk provided, and it had a useful kitchenette as well. The property manager was easy to arrange check in and check out with and they were kind enough to provide late check out so we could stay until we left for the airport. Would absolutely stay here again!

Lets start with the good. Great location and clean, breakfast was very good. I lived in Israel for over thirty year so I am aware of the Israeli version of ”service”. That being said. We made a reservation at the sister property Leonardo beach hotel, with a sea view room. That hotel was then closed (COVID?) so we were switched to a ”comparable” sea view room at the Leonardo Art hotel for the same price. When were arrived we were informed that sea view rooms were reserved for suites only and that we received an ”upgraded” room- well, this room was a small, dingy, hovel. The price we paid for this hovel of a room was therefore outrageous. The desk staff were surly and when I asked a question she pointed to a handout and said ”its all on the sheet”. Another front desk girl was using an old handkerchief to repeatedly blow and wipe her nose while touching the phone, patrons keys etc... so much for hand hygiene during pandemic. How about a stairwell from the 3rd to 2nd floor barricaded closed by mattresses? Firetrap? (see photo) The safe in our room was obviously broken and eviscerated (see photo) Lastly there is very little signage to be able to find wither the back or front entrance to the hotel and the entrance smells like an open sewer. Just sayin... there are many better options on the Tel Aviv beach. We certainly will take advantage of them on our next visit.

Good location. Clean.

The 2300 hotel is similar to the domestic Samsung, with small rooms and poor facilities. Because it was a Marriott member, it was upgraded afterwards, but the area is the same and it is slightly renovated. There is a lounge upstairs, which is more confusing, and eats almost the same type as breakfast. Downstairs public beach. There are many restaurants and bars left and right from the hotel. Take a taxi to the station and Jaffa about 100 Shekels. Go to the airport 140 Xie Keer, come back from Jordan decisively choose to live in a bed and breakfast

Just had a fantastic 4 night in this hotel. Well situated in a side street at one end of a very long beach area.If you walk straight out of hotel for about 5 minutes walk which takes you to the boardwalk area where there are a lot of shops,cafe and restaurants. Then if you want you could walk all the way across the sea front with a lovely beach one side with hotels,cafe's and Restaurants the other side.Its also reasonable to hire beds and umbrella's.There is also showers and places to change dotted along the sea front,if you walk for a good one and a half hours you will end up in Jaffa said to be the oldest port in the world and a must see place.Hotel also has a nice long street 2 minutes walk away which is full of bars,restaurants ans cafe's.Now it is a expensive place not as crazy as I thought and you can easily find cheaper places to eat and drink.Done all the holy land trips with which were fantastic and considering it was one the busiest times of the year it was well organised and got to visit everything. Lastly I would like to mention the staff in the Port Hotel who were absolutely fantastic. Bein Harim tours for trips and gett taxi from airport are recommended.

The high level of the beachfront is at home, the price is good.

We were warmly welcomed at reception and felt at home straight away - our needs met almost instantly. Stayed for 8 weeks. We got to know the housekeeping staff who are all delightful, and when we forgot to take the “do not disturb sign off the door, we were called to make sure we were ok. Hotels clean, very very comfortable, we wanted to steal the mattresses, and doonas It was very hot so we showered often and needed more of the large fluffy bath sheets They came almost instantly Thank you management We loved our stay and will come again

What a great find! We received a free room upgrade, a complimentary welcome drink, and an abundant breakfast all a block from the beach. Clean room, comfortable bed and a fun vibe. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The hotel is clearly meant for young people but I was happy to trade room space for a better price than the standard Tel Aviv hotels. Also a fun vibe in the lobby.

A very enjoyable stay, thanks to the wonderful service delivered by every member of staff. From the front reception desk to the cleaners to the breakfast staff, everyone was exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make guests feel special. The hotel itself is situated on HaYarkon Street, just behind the Hilton hotel and only a block in one direction from the beach and a couple of blocks in the other direction from Dizengoff St. The bedrooms are on the small side and decor is a little dated, but generally in good condition and very clean. In any case, with so much to do in Tel Aviv, very few people come to stay in their bedroom. Breakfast is served in the entrance lobby lounge area and is excellent, even by the high standards set in Israel. Not only is there a wide selection of foods on offer, but the quality is very high and generally very healthy too (chocolate babka aside, but exceptions can always be made for that!). Overall, it was a great experience - the reviews are true - and I will definitely return on future visits to Tel Aviv.
