We stayed at the Lake House at Fiordland Lodge a family of 4 for 2 nights before heading to Milford Sound. This was by far the nicest property we have stayed at during our 18 days in NZ. Breakfast provisions were easy to cook up & the pantry had plenty of items. We had planned to go to the store but just ate what was there & ate out in the evening in Te Anau. Great accommodations we will be back.

first class from beginning, My wife and I visited NZ forn 34 days and the Fiordland Lodge was one of the highlights of our visit. Wonderful place to stay rooms were top notch and the food was five star. The staff was just wonderful. Dave and Ellen Even Michigan USA

Sent enquiry of 5 items I wanted to clarify. Received a reply back from the manager, who took the 1st item of are pet allow which the lodge has done previously and used it to brush me off with excuse there changing policy and did not answer the other 4 enquiries. Found it very unprofessional for a lodge which one of the most expensive in New Zealand. Looking at the other Bad comments (Overbooking). It plain to see that he a manger so far up his backside that you would need a tool to get him out. Glad he fob me off, I don't think I would have enjoyed my stay, other than the beautiful NZ scenery. They need to get rid of him and get someone who know what hospitality looks like.

The perfect place to hang out when it’s cold outside. Everyone we met was very friendly and the food was exceptional. Open air hot tubs were wonderful. I’m not sure there’s many places like this - really spacious but cosy at the same time. Enjoyed the day trip to Milford Sound too.

Our stay was really good, but we strongly suggest the hotel makes the correction of many very popular websites where they indicates the availability of elevator which is not correct. We are frecquent travellers of more than 20 years and we always aime for 5* Hotels and this is the first time ever that we have found a closing time for breakfast as early as 9 o’clock.

We booked this due to proximity to Milford sound and wished we had stayed longer than one night. A first class hotel in a beautiful place.

What a wonderful hotel. The minute you pull up to the beautiful secluded spot you know this is a special place. Sitting on a small bluff outside of the town of Te Anau you are at a very quiet spot overlooking the mountains and fiord. The staff warmly greeted us upon arrival and even though we were several hours early they whisked us off to our room. The room was comfortable and well appointed with a million dollar view. The Lodge is a little remote and for this reason breakfast and dinner are included with your stay. The food was wonderful with the chef preparing a 3 course meal. You have a selection of several appetizers, entrees and desert. The food was wonderful. In the morning a lovely breakfast is thoughtfully prepared. The service in the restaurant was as expected our needs were attentively addressed. I would highly recommend a stay at the Fiordland Lodge.

What a beautiful hideaway! One cannot feel a sense of calm and warmth once you step through the door. James, Haley, and the entire team of done a spectacular job of making a very special place. The rooms are warm and inviting with comfortable beds and free snacks! The meals in the dining room are excellent. We went to several 2/3 hat restaurants during our trip and the meals we had at the Lodge compared very favorably. Also, be sure to take time to visit the Sauna and hot tubs: a gentle breeze and a lovely view to relax to. All of this against the backdrop of a spectacular view visible from almost every point within the lodge. Cannot wait to return! In short, my father wasn’t at the lodge for more than 5 minutes before asking when we could all come back.
