Kawayu is a very special experience. The hotel is easy to find and close to the bus station. Breakfast and dinner are pretty good. The uncle at the front desk speaks good English and is very enthusiastic. He patiently explains the route and helps make phone calls, etc. Thumbs up!

I booked a room with a private bath, which was large and new. The facilities were very complete. The private bath in the room was not comfortable enough and was not as good as the public hot spring downstairs.
I also stayed at Yufeng and Midoriya Sansui (I forgot the name) in Kumano last year. Fujiya is the best in all aspects. But unexpectedly, I found that many details in the room were very dirty and had not been cleaned for a long time. For example, on the bathroom sink and at the head of the bed, there was a long strip of light where you could put things, and there were even many dead bugs attracted by the light. . .
