The Von Stackelberg Hotel Tallinn
4.3/5101 Reviews
The surrounding environment is quiet. The hotel is not far from the urban area. On the way back to the hotel from the ferry pier, I went to the old city wall of Sweden, which took about 40 minutes. The breakfast is very rich. This hotel is worth living in again.

Tallinn Old Town
A great hotel with a beautiful location in the center. There is a spacious interior courtyard and a recreation area. The breakfast was very dense and delicious. Clean room 10 out of 10, no complaints. There was also a big TV, although I don 't need it, a small refrigerator and a safe. I will definitely return here when I am in Tallinn.
Lermitage Hotel Tallinn

I have no idea why this hotel is classed as 4*. I stayed in a tiny box room where the temperature could not be controlled and was just too hot for me. The window could only be opened slightly which kept shutting on its own accord! The staff did provide me with a fan though, which helped. There was no hospitality tray, which for a so called 4* is a basic. Their description says it’s 5 mins from the town Sq. It is NOT by any stretch of the imagination. It’s at least 15 mins, up a hill, then down a hill. It’s hard work. The breakfast service was an absolute shambles. Everything crowded together in one corner. A coffee machine that took ages to dispense coffee and i only wanted hot water. There was a massive queue for the buffet, then a queue for the drinks. Once you’ve got your food, there was no where left to sit, with people wandering around with plates of food. It was the most stressful breakfast service i’ve ever endured and the whole process took over an hour to complete. i was utterly fed up. Bed was comfy though. If i could have stayed somewhere else, i would have done. Not very pleasant for a holiday experience
Merchants House Hotel

Tallinn Old Town
A good location in the old town. However ... The hotel's website states: 'A more frequent cleaning and sanitizing regime for high touch surfaces in guest rooms' and Staff Training on Hygienic and Cleaning Processes' but our room wasn't cleaned for 2 days! We mentioned it to reception, but all they told us was that Housekeeping had gone home. Take note that some rooms supposedly have air-conditioning. Ours had an air-con unit, but it didn't work. We mentioned it to reception, and they said that it wasn’t guaranteed. So if any listing mentions that a room has air-con, beware! Especially in the summer months when the city can get hot. Our double room was very basic, and nothing like the pictures of a double room on the hotel's website. The website states that 'All of the guest rooms and suites are newly renovated' - this is clearly not the case. Again, beware. There was no bottled water in the rooms; water was available from reception at €5/litre - that is more than what airports charge! We had to wait ages to check in as there was only one receptionist; although she was helpful, she was clearly overworked. In general, though, other than when we checked in, the reception staff were not helpful or very interested. We didn't have breakfast as we were put off by the lack of friendliness of the staff. There are plenty of places close by for breakfast, and with a friendly welcome.
Mercure Tallinn

This if former ”Ulemiste hotel”, recently rebranded to ”Mercure”. If not mistaking, some period during and post-covid it was not functioning. From interior/exterior point of view nothing much changed, even colours and furniture remained original from previous hotel. Food quality during breakfast slightly improved, didn't try restaurant onsite, but must say bar doesn't have draught beer, only bottled. Bed was comfortable, sound insulation reasonable. The only downside - permanently changing temperature of water from hot to cold. Parking free for hotel guests. 100m from hotel - large ”Ulemiste” shopping mall with many shops and places to eat. Overall would recomend, if you don't desperatelly want to stay in old city. Myself would stay if price offer is attractive only.
CRU Hotel

Tallinn Old Town
I loved it here! The hotel is located in an old building and has lots of charm. The corridors are narrow, and there are many short stairs to encounter. The rooms are a mix of old fashion and modern. The room I was in was equipped with a double bed, a closet, a couch and a table, a desk, a small fridge, and a convenient bathroom with a nice shower. They provided free water, and there was a bathrobe, slippers, and a decent hairdryer. The hotel is situated in the old town with easy access to everything. Museums, cafes, a shopping centre, public transport - everything is within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. I got there a couple of hours early and hoped that they could store my luggage until check-in time. However, the room was already available, so they checked me in instead. They had also upgraded my room from a single room to a deluxe room, which was a really pleasant surprise and made my stay even better. The hotel restaurant was right beneath my room, so I heard some music and sound, but not more than can be expected when living in an old building in the middle of the city. It also seemed to be open between 2 and 11 pm, and the rest of the time, the room was totally quiet and dark. I liked that there were so many possible lighting options, both in the room itself and in the bathroom. Because this is a small hotel, there weren't a lot of sound from the corridors or other rooms. The breakfast was served between 8 and 11 am. It wasn't big, but had everything you needed - both hot and cold options. It was calm and quiet. I would love to come back another time.
