My wife and I are Hilton Honor members and usually stay at Hamptons. On February 17th after a long day on the road we chose the Hilton Garden Inn, Tallahassee. We dropped off our luggage and went out for dinner at 9:00 pm. When we returned to the room 309, we found that the bed had fresh linen, but the room and bathroom had not been cleaned. The front desk staff offered room 311 which we asked to see first. That room also had fresh linen on the bed but had not been cleaned. We met with the front desk staff again and he explained that the inn "was having problems with the cleaning staff". At that point he offered to credit our card if we wanted to relocate. At 11:30pm we moved to the Hampton Inn in Quincy, 20 miles away. After waiting several days for the card to be credited we called the Garden Inn and were informed they would not honor the night staff commitment and refused to credit. At that point we were frustrated and contacted Hilton Corp staff and complained. After a very courteous review of our information, they decided to refund our stay.
