On December 18, 2023, I stayed at Taiyuan Jinxuan Oriental Hotel for the first time. I felt that the hotel had a beautiful environment, the front desk customer service staff was warm and thoughtful, the room was clean and hygienic, four bottles of mineral water were sent every day, and the toiletries were more particular. I really felt at home. So on the basis of the original booking for two days, I renewed the reservation for another day. By the way! The hotel is very close to Taiyuan Railway Station (not Taiyuan High-speed Railway Station), and the traffic is particularly convenient. Next time I come to Taiyuan, I have to live in the Jinxu Oriental Hotel.

I was going to take a day trip to Datong the next day, so I simply chose this hotel as soon as I gathered. The location is excellent, diagonally opposite Taiyuan Station, and the meeting point is also close. I woke up at 5 a.m., which was just the right time! Hygiene is acceptable. Even if the air conditioner is turned off and the windows are opened, there is no noise. In addition, the price is so beautiful. I have never stayed in a hotel with such a low price. I am very satisfied with the above four points. The disadvantage is that it is small. You are right next to the bed when you enter the door, the range of activities is small, and the bathroom is also small, but it has everything you need, so it is no problem for a simple stay.

Arrived early in the morning, the front desk generously sent breakfast. The breakfast room is on the highest floor and has a good view. Although it is relatively simple, there are hot dishes, cold dishes, noodle stalls and bread, and there are some. Good hotel occupying 2 floors of a commercial building in the city. Easy access to pedestrian mall, eateries and food stalls right in front of hotel.
Our room was even equipped with a small washing machine! Ample supply of drinking water much appreciated.
Housekeeping staff number 072 was courteous and helpful keeping our 3 rooms clean and well kept.
Only setback to this hotel is no porterage nor ramp available and we had to carry our big bags up the steps to the main lobby.

I checked in at 10:30 pm and used my points to redeem a room upgrade. When I checked in, I asked the front desk that I had already applied for a room upgrade on Ctrip, so I could get a room upgrade. He immediately turned his face up and didn't even bother to check. He didn't even pretend. He immediately said that the room was full. I opened the Ctrip APP to show him that all room types were on sale, and it was unclear which room was full. Less than half an hour later, I called Ctrip to report the problem, and it was even funnier. The front desk and Ctrip customer service said that the room was full and someone had just checked out, but they upgraded it. It's ridiculous. I want to know who would check out after 10 pm. It's a good excuse. Anyway, this matter is not over. I will contact Jinjiang later to deal with it.

GGuest UserEvery time I come to Taiyuan for a business trip, I choose this hotel. It is quiet at night and there is no noise. The bedding is also very good, and the quality of sleep is very good. The bathroom is very clean, and the toilet has a disposable toilet cover, which can be replaced with one click. I especially like it. After my reservation was successful, a hotel staff called to inquire and added WeChat after asking for permission. There was no interruption after that, and when I asked questions, they responded immediately~
We were traveling by car and were used to parking our cars in the basement. We were surprised. The basement was so clean that the ground looked like a mirror, and the elevator led directly to the lobby~
Entering the lobby, you are immediately greeted by a receptionist. The decoration in the lobby is very grand, and check-in is quick. What is very special is that the hotel has Starbucks coffee service, and I gave you a coffee coupon. The girl who makes the coffee is very cute, and her attitude is like a family member. Makes you feel warm~
The room is large enough and has a practical design, especially the double sinks and the toilet and bath settings, which can be used by the whole family at the same time~

Let’s talk about the breakfast. I knew from the reviews that the breakfast in this hotel is very good. But when we went there in person, we were still surprised. It was so rich. In addition to what is available in five-star hotels, there are also many others. , such as lamb chops, soup stock, freshly squeezed juices that I have never seen before, propolis, salmon and other cold cuts, tangerine peel and red bean paste, etc. In short, it is delicious~~~

AAnne-MarieHaving lived in private residence at an overseas Pullman Hotel, this Pullman is different.
Pros:
- Very professional, presentable, helpful, prompt, and well spoken multi-lingual staff at reception and breakfast (staff member Ivo is exemplary of these qualities, also Zhao fengpei (gentlemen on the door who helped me with my bag and the car door), and the gentleman that was by the door at check-in who helped expedite the check-in process).
- Comfy beds and pillows.
- The softest and best bathrobes!
- Yoga mat in the room in a nice touch
Cons:
- A general issue across most hotels is enforcing the non-smoking policy. Unfortunately there was a group of men smoking in the lobby (despite the non-smoking signs), one elevator smelled of cigarette smoke, the a/c seemed to recirculate this smell, and I had to change rooms the second day as the smell of old cigarette smoke was embedded into the pillows and you could smell it every time you walked into the room. Therefore it triggered my asthma. Although they were very busy, I was able to change rooms after the first night.
- Unfortunately the executive lounge was not open and your only other option is the lobby.
- No spa
- Only one restaurant open at night and no room service
- Is in need of more regular general maintenance
Room for improvement:
- While the lounge is unavailable it would be helpful to communicate this to your executive room guests when checking-in or on the booking website which it wasn’t. My husband had to prompt this conversation at check-in. But it was clear there was no set alternative, that is, just go to the lobby lounge and have what you like (no timing, no specifics). This led to confusion for the staff members in the lounge. To save time for staff and the customer, a simple bulleted list on an A4 sheet is what Kempinski do. Perhaps a note on the guests profile or the room number should suffice.
- Slightly envious that the other reviewers were upgraded. We were supposed to be upgraded from the executive room for free as a platinum member but that never happened. However, it was good that Kelly offered the minibar, and some drinks and cakes at the lobby lounge as free.
- Also, our first executive room 1710 was dark, windows were filthy, it was run down and had no Nespresso machine (compared to 1805 which was the same room type but a lot better).

YYaoIn the past when I go to Taiyuan I always stayed at Pullmans next to FuLi Xinhualing area. I decided to give this hotel a try due to its location and convenience. Location is very convenient, calling a cab is easy, Starbucks next door, shopping centers all round with food courts, Walmart is 10 minutes walk away. Hotel got a pool and gym, I used it and it is not bad at all. They kept the pool and the gym pretty clean. The rooms are also kept clean. Be mindful that the rooms are not design for privacy. If you are staying with another person in the room the bathroom + shower has clear glasses, they have a see through shades covering the glasses but you can still see everything inside. The rooms seems to be smoke free but the hall ways are always filled with smoke smell. They really do not enforce no indoor smoking rule here. It is a hit and miss on the non-smoking room. I see some guest smoking in their rooms with door open. At last the service. The front desk staff seems very cordial and nice. However on the day we are checking out they informed us that one of the towels we used has dye on it which they can not wash out, that came out to a whopping 100 yuan to replace the towel. Really? 100 yuan, I can get a dozen white towels in Walmart. Also, the claim they couldn't clean it was shown to me on a front desk staff's personal phone. Have you ever heard of bleach before? Seriously, you can not get a white towel cleaned? Is this hotel in the hospitality business or linen retail business? Since I was in a hurry to catch a train I didn't want to argue over something as petty as 100 yuan. I paid the fees and left. Next time I am in Taiyuan again I probably will go back to Pullman hotel. Smoke smell is not a problem and they never give me a hard time on something as petty as a towel.

The breakfast selection offered at the hotel was both varied and delicious. I appreciate the outstanding service provided by the young lady who assisted me with the check-in process; she is very kind, professional, and efficient. One minor suggestion is regarding the bathroom door. While the partially etched glass door is not necessarily a problem, a frosted glass door would provide more privacy for guests.
Overall, I had a great stay at the Ibis Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

GGuest UserI found myself having to stay in Taiyuan due to the outbreak preventing me going home. After several phone calls I finally found this hotel that would receive foreign guests.
The staff were very polite and I particularly wish to thank the front desk staff and the concierge who helped me with the various paperwork needed when I arrived.
The room was very clean, well furnished and maintained. A fruit basket was delivered which I thought was a nice touch.
Living so close to Taiyuan it is not somewhere I would usually need to stay but should the need arise again I would not hesitate to do so. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asks me about a suitable hotel or if you are planning to stay in Taiyuan.
The location is very convenient. Lots of food options and things to do nearby.
All in all, Shanxi Hotel deserve praise.

The room was okay but in terms of cleanliness, there's still a lot to be done especially in the bathroom. If I were staying for longer it would be a problem using the wc but since it was just a night to catch a flight I'm not too mad. The bathroom was spacious enough and the room as well even though there were two beds, which was good. The overall stay was okay, we had to go back into town and the lovely Mr Lee was very helpful, he drove us back to the roadside to get a taxi and when we got back luckily we met him after the map took us to a wrong route and drove us back to the hotel. The airport was about 6 minutes from the hotel and even though we both had different departure times, one early in the morning and myself late afternoon, we were both taken to the airport as well. I think if the road to the hotel is fixed and they can do some real scrubbing and cleaning it would be a really good place.
