Hotels Near Wanqingyan Qingshui Temple in Taipei

We booked the city view room, but honestly, the view was a bit disappointing. Maybe it's because we were only on the 2nd floor. But otherwise everything else was fine and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was packed with a variety of food, none suited my taste but that's more of a me problem. Definitely recommend going a bit early as it tends to get more crowded later on for breakfast.

Location was excellent, very near train, bus and airport express. Surrounding has a lot of food to select from, best is 7-11 and family mart is just round the corner.

Hotel is located in walking distance from the main station , everything can be reached within short time . The staff itself is friendly and attentive , the rooms clean.

I’ve stayed a lot of places in this has by far been my worst experience in years. I think as far as the location and amenities and the cleanliness everything is fine. But I tried to cancel my booking they refuse because somebody is snoring so loudly I can’t sleep from 2 AM to 7 AM. It’s impossible for me to sleep. so then I finally get a few hours of sleep I’m awake and I am packing my stuff getting ready to leave and they promptly come right at 12 o’clock as I’m already leaving, the system they have in the checkout has them want to charge me. The front desk was pretty rude to me as I was leaving I told them this isn’t fair. Also, as I was leaving, there was a European guy there was working for the place. He was doing his daily activities and I was offering to clean the bathroom by taking out the trash that was overflowing and he freaked out at me and told me to put it back. let’s just say it was a horrible night and even worse but luckily the dumplings that were right outside put me in a better mood. I wasn’t going to leave a review, but I noticed that the Fun Inn (that was nothing but fine. I asked a few people if they were busy they were just sitting around on their phones and they all said they were) had already sent Trip.com a message that I had checked out a couple minutes late. Well, I just wanna let everybody know that this could stay anywhere else other than that place.

Location is strategic, near access to Ximending Night Market. Nearest bus stop location is Ximen Elementary School. Just 30-50m away. Took bus if too tired to walk to the hotel 😂 If you need toothbrush, request it at the reception counter. Luggage storage is convenient with CCTV. You can store luggages if you arrive early or if your flight back home still have hours to go. We also ask them for help to book a taxi to go to the airport after check out.

Hotel location is convenient as it's only walking distance from Ximen's shopping district and MRT. Lots of shops and and restaurants around so you will never run out of options. The receptionist was accommodating with all our inquiries. We loved the fact that we can drink as many coffee and hot chocolate as we want from the drink machine in the lobby. There is a water dispenser as well to refill water. My sister and I had a wonderful stay and there isn't really much to complain about. The decor is quite old fashioned but our room was clean enough which is most important. Overall, we are satisfied. I would recommend to stay here if you are looking for an affordable decent place to stay for a couple of days in Ximen.

We had a pleasant stay with Hotel Papa Whale, the building is not as new as the photos, but it's clean inside. The room was also clean and the staff were nice. They always restock what you use with the toiletries. I just wish they would change their food a little at the buffet. It was delicious but a bit tiring if you eat the same everyday. Overall, we had a good time. The location was also convenient. Close to everything. :)

For the price and location it's a good hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. My main complaint is that the shower areas are really hot, so you start to sweat as soon as you've showered. I think the hostel is a bit on the quiet side in the communal areas, but apparently all hostels in Taiwan are like that. Additionally, something I really appreciated about this hostel is they messaged me asking if I would arrive after 9 pm. Because I was going to, they left my key card in the lock boxes by the entrance, so I didn't have to pay the out-of-hours reception fee. If you will arrive after 9 pm, just let them know and they can sort this out for you.

The room is comfortable. Clean. Although the room is not modern and novel, the equipment is complete. The price is reasonable. Although no breakfast is provided, there is breakfast available at 30 meters. It is also very convenient to Qingguang business district.

Pros, A nice historical hotel with affordable and reasonable price. The baloncy is very big and the city view is nice. Room is clean and big as well. Cons, The only minor thing is you may need to wait for 20-30mins for the free shuttle bus. Shuttle bus is only available til 11pm, or you need to take the taxi to go to Metro station.
