Taboga Palace Spa Hotel ★★★★

"My family and I had an incredible experience on Taboga Island, much of it had to do with our stay at the Taboga Palace SPA Hotel. The location cannot be beaten as it is a short 1 minute walk from the ferry. From the moment we checked in to the time we left on the ferry, we were treated incredibly well by David and his friendly staff. They made us feel like family. The hotel was spotless, the rooms luxurious, with incredible views. We especially enjoyed the nightly cocktails as prepared by David, top notch. Just as much so, we enjoyed his generosity of spirit. It is a wonderful hotel, in a wonderful place, run by wonderful people."

"Wonderful hotel on the hillside towards the end of town. We took the fast ferry from Panama City in a heavy rainstorm. The ferry arrived 30 minutes late so our hotel pick-up wasn’t at the pier. I called them and they quickly sent over a very nice young man on an ATV to pick us and our luggage up. This was a good thing since it would have been a long walk with luggage and it was raining. We quickly took care of checking in and were shown our room which was a modest size with air conditioning, very comfortable bed, and a little sitting porch. We stayed in one of the three Opal rooms which is next door and share a large sitting area and porch affording a fantastic view of city and bay and a kitchen/coffee maker. Breakfast was fantastic and we were allowed to choose three things from the menu, all delicious and well prepared. Generally I had eggs, fruit, and toast. The highlight was dinner. They have an incredible chef who serves up a limited, delicious, gourmet menu from their open air restaurant on the third floor. We ate there three nights and two nights we had the fresh fish which was grilled sea bass with a choice of sides, including perfectly cooked al dente vegetables. I also had the creamy pasta with shrimp which was a little too creamy for me. And in the background to all this was the incredible view from the restaurant of the ocean looking back to Panama City. During the day you look at the skyline and the many boats anchored and waiting their turn to go through the canal. And at night you look at the twinkling lights of the boats looking like lighted pearls drifting on the ocean. We spent a couple lazy afternoons sitting in the open air restaurant deck, gazing across the water and nursing a cervesa while reading our books. Very attentive staff."
