From the minute of our arrival the staff at Peppers-Sebel Manly Beach were so helpful and friendly. We arrived very early after our cruise and the spaciousness of our room was delightful. The location of our accommodation behind the surf club at Manly beach was perfect for a swim, relaxing with the locals, and exploring the great variety of cafes, restaurants, and bars. A wonderful stay! 🙏 😊

After my last review of this hotel, the manager got in touch with me to discuss my concerns. After a lengthy and genuine conversation, he offered my family a one night stay as an apology which I accepted and used this month for a solo visit when I was travelling for work. This time the stay was lovely (with no feather or down bedding to be seen). I received a very friendly welcome from Rita on the front desk. The accommodation again was spacious and had multiple rooms within it including a kitchen, bathroom, laundry, bedroom and lounge. It was quiet and comfortable. And has fantastic views of the harbour and a great pool and gym.

We stayed as a family of four after booking directly through the All Accor website. Elements of the room inclusions stated on the website were absolutely not provided, such as there was no coffee machine, no ice maker, certainly no pay tv or anything other than free to air, and no mini-bar. These were not an issue to us, but they should not state that this is part of the room when it is not. It also provided the option to pay more for breakfast being included. When we checked in, we were offered a paper bag with some cereal as the breakfast. I said no, that's not what a reasonable person expects from an included breakfast at a hotel. Even if it was what they did usually, this should be very clearly stated in the website so you can make an educated decision about whether to pay extra for it. I did not accept the bag, and requested a partial refund of the extra cost I had paid. The manager on duty said he understood and I did not take possession of the bag at any time. He said he would chase up my request for the refund of the breakfast, but after reminding him as I checked out, and after sending an email requesting this to the hotel manager, I have heard nothing. The room itself was tidy and comfortable. We had a two bedroom apartment. Apparently there was a pool, but no information was provided at any time about this. I found it on level 7, but we did not use it. I believe there should have been a gym somewhere, based on the advertising, but I have no idea where this might have been. Again, absolutely no facilities information was provided to us - nothing in the room, and no information communicated on check-in. No cleaning materials supplied such as a broom, toilet brush, dustpan and shovel, so you cannot easily tidy up after yourself, and there is no housekeeping supplied (we were not there for a full week, I believe it occurs after that). One used toilet roll was available, and we had to go and request more to last us through the visit. A single bin liner was provided in the bin, so we had to ask for more of those as well, so that we could actually keep our room cleaned. We did not use the oven, and the area around the stovetop was quite greasy. Minor complaints regarding cleanliness, dissatisfaction with misrepresentation of the booking, but overall, a very good location and room. I will be much happier when they refund me the extra amount I paid, but I have also requested they update the website listing so more people are not misled into ordering something that is not what they expected. There is pretty much no service provided at all, and this is not a 4 1/2 star hotel. I would suggest it should be updated to a 2 star hotel. Honestly, it does not exceed above-average accommodation needs, it does not actually meet them. It really is a budget and comfortable accommodation that meets purpose, but there is no service at all.

We had a lot of trouble getting anyone to answer the phone at the front desk, tried for three hours before arrival but just gave up in the end. Arrived in pouring rain and there are 7 steps to get into the property, no parking out the front but we did at any rate, too wet to care, disabled entrance is on Phillip St so we found out later. Had to use Wilson parking next door which is so tight no two cars can pass each other and the rate is $70 a night during the week. No lift access on the weekend so we had to walk down the ramps to level 5 with our luggage, not great when you are disabled. Nice rooms but not much in the way of amenities, which was disappointing. No room service or attached dining room or café. Not very impressed.
