Facilities were closed. We were not able to use gym or swimming pool, something we were looking forward to. No parking at or near the hotel, despite being informed we would be able to park. Staff were not helpful. I imagine it's because they were consumed by hosting a wedding, but that shouldn't take away from other clients. At 11pm, a random person entered the room and woke us whilst looking around the room, as staff had provided him with a key to our room. This is shocking. Incredibly poor and not what we paid for. We mentioned these issues and there was little sympathy and no offer of a refund. I hope the staff change their mind as it's clear this is not the service we paid for.

This time last week. ( 14/09/2024 ) We attended the most perfect wedding my daughter and her husband. Made perfect by the seamless professional service of Lindsay Bish and all of her staff at the Grand Hotel Swanage. Please tell everyone involved that we will be talking about them for a long time to come as they even bought the sun rays to enhance the atmosphere of the day. How did they do that? Everything was just right. Big Thanks to Chef and his team. See you all soon. X

Very good experience at the Grand. The room with sea view was spacious and clean and the meal we had was excellent. It is difficult to park in the small car park but we always found a place in Burlington Road. Unfortunately the lift was still out of order but we were on the first floor so not too many steps.Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely old building, kept well for its age, our room (lux double) with a modern large shower room with spacious shower enclosure and nice tall shower which easily accommodated the 6foot5 husband! well decorated room, very large bed, fluffy towels, brilliant view over the beach. Fantastic breakfast. Would definitely return.

I must congratulate every member of staff for the wonderful experience that guests enjoy at the Grand. My husband and me spent three nights there to celebrate our wedding anniversary on 21st July. From our arrival around 4pm on Friday until our departure on Monday morning, we enjoyed a relaxed and peaceful weekend. The hotel's location couldn't be bettered, and the service and dining were excellent. I can't find enough superlatives to describe how well we were served by everyone (including the room attendant) and how fabulous the food was, including the full English breakfast, which was perfect every time and the best we have eaten anywhere. As for the dinners we enjoyed, they were spectacular. We were both impressed that the menu was limited to a small variety of interesting and imaginative main courses, which meant that we knew whatever we chose would be excellent. And the mango tart dessert was exquisite. The conservatory dining room was a lovely place to enjoy a wonderful dinner, then sit back with a glass of your favourite tipple or a coffee and watch the sun go down over the sea - stunning! The ease of accessing the clean, sand beach was also great and made it easy to give in to temptation and go for a swim. And now for the (tiny) complaint - the tea made with the Dorset teabags was awful, not helped by the semi-skimmed milk. Perhaps the hotel could consider providing the choice of skimmed milk as well - a lot of people drink it these days! And my husband was disappointed that there was not a fridge in the room 😊 Notwithstanding the fridge, we are looking forward to returning to the Grand next year. This is very much a hotel for couples looking for a chilled and peaceful break, a perfect base from where to do as much or as little as you want.

Quite surprised, we booked this on short notice and we want to come back. Truly excellent service along with the food, just so good. The location is perfect, the evening meal incredible along with a fine view overlooking the bay. Excellent rooms, and very comfortable. Felt very valued and one to come back for again. Parking was limited but that’s not an issue, we parked down the road.

We went to the Grand Hotel iin Swanage for lunch to celebrate our friend's 60th birthday. There were 30 of us and the food and service was first class. Nothing was to much trouble so thank you to everyone at the Grand including Marek and Lindsay.

We visited the Grand hotel as part of a large 60th party grouo. Firstly the outside entrance gives you no ide of just how nice the inside of this hotel is. With stunning panoramic views over Swanage bay from the Restaurant, conservatory, gardens and many of its hotel bedrooms. Also steps down to the beach and promenade. We had the pleasure of an excellent Roast Dinner followed by a Grand Assiette of 3 small deserts. I normally steer clear of roast dinners as I am often disappointed but Chef Marek did us proud, Beef still pink, great selection of vegetables, not the usual boiled carrots and broccoli, even the horseradish side appeared to be homemade. Compliments also to the hotel staff who were all friendly and efficient. Found it hard to find fault. Add to this that when we and the organiser check our the hotel a few weeks ago we ate lunch in the conservatory, very nice burgers, onion rings etc, not cheap but very good quality and tasty so no issues there.
