There is something about sleeping with open windows and being woken up by the sound of waves. Now add on high-thread cotton covers and a great mattress, and you've got yourself a perfect reason to stay in bed until you feel bad about not spending your few days on Bornholm. We stayed two nights at Hotel Siemsens Gaard had it not been for their delicious breakfast, we would probably have stayed in bed. On our second day, we were recommended to try to go for a swim at the Svaneke Badeklub. We were provided with a thick bathrobe and a key and had a great swim and sauna morning. The hotel offers what I'd consider minimalistic luxury and pairs it with a service level that matches that of a 5-star hotel. As a former concierge at the Marriott, I understand high service when exposed to it, and the management at Hotel Siemsens Gaard understands that without staff that has a passion for service, you miss the human touch. We look forward to our next visit to Hotel Siemsens Gaard, both for their fantastic rooms and amenities and mostly for their unique ability to make what we thought was an ordinary stay into a memorable experience.

Man muss berücksichtigen, dass es sich (nur) um ein 3-Sterne-Hotel handelt. Dafür war die Zimmereinrichtung praktisch. Das Zimmer selbst, im ersten Stockwerk des Mittelflügels gelegen, war praktisch ein Giebelzimmer, dessen schräge Decke das Einsteigen ins Bett auf der Seitenseite etwas umständlich machte. Fragen Sie bei der Buchung nach der Gestaltung des Raumes. Im Sommer kann man die Außenbewirtschaftung im Innenhof des U-förmigen großzügig gebauten Hotels genießen. Das Restaurant besticht durch seine unvergleichliche Lage mit Blick auf den 40 m. entfernten Yachthafen. Das Frühstück war eher etwas karg, aber von allem wurde ausreichend angeboten. Das Abendessen war qualitativ sehr gut. Alle Schönheiten dieses Ortes, der für uns der schönste auf Bornholm ist, sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Wir werden, wenn wir nach Bornholm fahren sollten, jederzeit dort wieder wohnen.
