No lift to go to 1st floor ,hard for family with kids and luggage

Poor service upon arrival as we waited a long time before we were checked in. Rooms we're ok but little in tea and coffee facilities in room. Extra coffee bags where available on request but grudgingly. The room was OK but my bed had a misshapen matress which hampered my shot at a good night's sleep. The real tragedy however was the breakfast. After fighting to catch the attention of the waitress who was standing in a near empty talking to a couple who had finished breakfast I ordered the full works breakfast. I had 2 poached eggs with hard yolks, crispy (overcooked) bacon 2 cold anaemic sausages distinctly lacking flavour grilled but raw salad tomatoe field mushroom which had never seen a pan. Cold beans. Hash browns ok. Toast was cold and chewey. It felt as if chef had prepared breakfast items night before and wait staff threw it in microwave just before serving.

I Came for lunch with a friend . we were Super impressed with the renovations and the service received from our waitress Eloise , what a joy! The garden area was relaxing and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Toilets were nice and clean . We ate outside and both enjoyed our meals.

Fantastic service by our waitress Cerys and the food was excellent! I had a lovely triple roast and the chocolate melting pudding! Both meals were delicious. Cerys served us with a smile and was extremely friendly, polite and funny. I will definitely be going there again!

Me and my friends recently came for lunch. Not only was the food great, but aswell the customer service, I’d like to say a special thank you to Eloise for being so friendly and helpful, you made are time there very enjoyable. Definitely will be returning soon :))

Thank you for a fantastic family lunch we enjoyed our meal very much and we had a wonderful waitress Chloe W who made us feel very welcome and was very friendly and professional Hope to be back soon to enjoy another lovley family meal Would also like to say the bar and restaurant is extremely clean and looked after

Sadly won't be paying another visit after getting £100 parking charge notice served in the post! Payed for a ticket in the car park on the day of visit but sadly must have thrown it away, so have no way of appealing. What a scam this is! In terms of the food, it's well overpriced for what you get unless you have a discount voucher. The only good thing to say is that the waitress was pleasant enough. We won't be returning though and will be warning others to stay clear. I note that from other reviews that customers have been caught out by the car parking scam that operates here. A shame really The Bear used to be a decent establishment back in the day. Sad days.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Bear Inn. Having not been for some time, I won't be leaving it so long again. A particular thanks to our waitress, Chloe W. She made us feel really at ease and nothing was too much trouble. I'll be visiting again soon.
