The Bell at Stow

We really enjoyed our stay we had a very comfortable room with literally everything you need for a fabulous stay, the nice little freebies in the room were a great touch. The food and breakfast were excellent quality and value for money. The staff were amazing, warm friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommend the Bell Inn.

Stayed in Fox room for 1 night. The room may have been small but an excellent use of space. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated room. Excellent shower and lovely touches like a glass of port and also some straighteners! Breakfast was excellent! Would definitely stay again! X

Stayed in Stuart House in the Hedgehog room. Room was small but beautifully appointed, luxurious decor, splendid towels and super hot shower. Mini honesty bar contained a wide range of drinks and snacks reasonably priced. As the room was right next to the road out of the town centre so there was some inevitable traffic noise, but I’m sure other rooms in Stuart House would suffer less from this. Benefit of Stuart House is the proximity to the town square and its pubs and restaurants. Breakfast at the main pub was first class. Parking at the main pub is limited, but at Stuart House has ample parking for the rooms.

Staying here was the right call! Super cute place where we felt right at home. We were in the Pheasant room which was spacious (from what we were expecting) and had a very comfy bed. Bathroom was redone, ran small but got the job done. Central to all of Stow on the Wold. Everyone we interacted with was so kind. Pub had great breakfast and dinner. Plenty of extras in the room including hair dryer, straightener (a first at any hotel I've stayed at so of course I used it), tea/coffee, snacks for an extra cost, adequate space for hanging clothes, vanity with seat. Loved attention to travel oriented details such as USB outlets. Only negative is we wish there was a fan in the room as it was quite warm and the windows couldn't be opened all the way.

With only 5 rooms, the Bell at Stow is more B&B than hotel. Very cozy and charming. The location, while easily walkable to the town center, is just far enough removed from the center that you avoid much of the crazy traffic that descends on the town at peak tourist periods. Our room was cozy (i.e., not super spacious), clean, and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were more than adequate. It must be noted that there is no elevator up to the guest rooms, and no air conditioning (although it was cool enough during our stay that an open window was more than enough to keep us comfortable). A generous breakfast with multiple options is included in the very reasonable room price, so staying here was a very good value for us. The Bell at Stow was a great base for our exploration of the Cotswolds, as Bibury, Bourton on the Water, and Upper and Lower Slaughter (among others) are very close by.

The staff was relatively friendly. The breakfast that was included was fantastic! The big issue we had was that the rooms have NO AIR CONDITIONING and NO FAN! It was in the 80s while we were there and you could only open one window about 3 inches. That combined with a small bed, did not make the stay ideal. Needless to say we didn't get very much sleep.

We stayed in Stuart House which is just up the road from the pub The Bell. Perfect in the heart of Stow. Decorated tastefully. Not over priced. Kettle, coffee machine, hairdryer and iron and board all in room. There are snacks and a mini bar at extra cost if you require. We ate our main meal at the Bell and it was freshly cooked and homemade. The staff couldn’t be more helpful as we arrived early, to spend the day around the area. Carol was really helpful with information. We walked to Bourton-on-the-Water and Carol explained where to get the bus back and the number! Great place to stay at a reasonable price.

We have wanted to stay in Stow on the Wold for some time. Decided to take a ride out as it was probably going to be one of the last of the year as Autumn is setting in. Booked the Bell, we were upgraded to the annex which is just a few yards up the hill. Plenty of parking,and they let us leave the bike the next morning when we checked out to go for a stroll and get something to eat. The room,we stayed in Otter, was very comfortable, my only comment is when putting lots of cushions on the bed please can you have somewhere to put them when your customer needs to sleep . Can't fault the accommodation, it's got a great old feeling with the beams running through the room. Definitely stay again

Stuart house is in a very good location it's very close to the square, it has its own car park which was an added bonus the place is clean and the bed was very comfortable. There's tea, coffee, and milk plus two shortbread biscuits in the room, and a free small bottle of port.
