Fabulous location. I enjoyed seeing all the curated old artifacts and reading up on the 500 year history of the place. The people were wonderful. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was modern and clean. I’d stay there again.

Such a lovely hotel for a very affordable price. Located in the city center next to those winding shopping streets, very stylish with the vintage furniture on the inside and incredibly helpful staff!

Pros:
- Centrally located
- Good architecture and interiors
- Decent breakfast spread
Cons:
- Extremely poor service
- Room was shabby and unclean
- Electricity went off twice in the night when we were asleep. Had to go down to the reception at 4 AM and ask the staff to fix it, as the phone in the room did not work. Again, it went off around 7 AM

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while we ventured around Stone town during our visit in October 2024. One of the reasons we had preferred this hotel was that it is in the heart of the Stone Town that makes everything easily accessible. A very well curated hotel which used to be a palace earlier; it has variety of rooms with different views. The hotel has all the necessary amenities and can support in getting ground transportation, guide as well as an itinerary during your stay. They a nice buffet but does not provide liquor. Would definitely recommend at least a couple of days stay here.

Fui com meu marido em outubro/2024 e ficamos 2 dias. Eu adorei o quarto, bem espaçoso, banheiro novo, e o hotel é lindo. Os funcionários todos foram muito educados e receptivos conosco. A localização é muito boa, da pra ir a pé até o centro, e achei que o custo benefício vale a pena

Pour commencer : l'emplacement est idéal, proche de la plage, des restaurants, des marchés (10 min), du musée Freddy Mercury. Chambre très spacieuse comme la salle de bain, produit moustique mis tous les jours si vous le souhaitez, très propre. Le personnel : au top, toujours bonjour, le sourire. Nous avons récupéré nos vêtements lavés mais pas repassés, un geste commercial a été fait. Le petit déjeuné compris dans le prix rien à redire, top. Par contre si vous mangez sur place, il ne faut pas être pressé, pole pole comme ils disent mais c'est les vacances 😊 Et pour parler du prix d'une nuit, c'est vraiment accessible et peu cher. Juste petit bémol pour l'isolation.

Great small hotel in the heart of stone town in the famous busy street, large rooms, very old style hotel perfect stay for a quick trip to stone town, staff were amazing we were allowed to keep our luggage there while we went on our 2 day safari which was very nice of the hotel, they gave us breakfast boxes to take with us when we left early for our safari, very clean hotel full of quirky antiques.
