My original hotel who had been giving one word email replies ( when they bothered to reply) only told me 3 days before arrival into Stockholm that they do not offer secure luggage storage. With just under a day left until departure I had no hotel booked and was stressed. I emailed the Maude’s Hotel Enskede and in one email, the lovely Anna told me everything I needed to know including clear instructions on how to get there. By the time I got Anna’s email I had 4 hours until departure from the UK to Stockholm. I made my booking and was very pleasantly surprised I had been upgraded to a room facing the pastel coloured villas behind the hotel ! I received a further email with special instructions in case I arrive after checkin closes at 2200pm. It would turn out that I would arrive sometime after that due to a cancelled and rerouted flight. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the Subway Station Swedmyra ( Sveadmeera ). When you exit the station, turn left, then 1st right and keep walking and a straight path ( via a road) takes you to the hotel. You can’t miss the hotel with it’s bold yellow paintwork ! Upon arrival and after 15 minutes of waiting outside in the freezing cold and snow and a potential language barrier to whoever I was speaking to, I finally managed to get access to the front door where an envelope was waiting with my surname and Room Number. Please note there is a lift to the upper floors ( I only found out after dragging my heavy suitcase up a flight of winding stairs). After a day of flying on 3 flights, my phone battery was by now down to 15% and I was dismayed that there were no USB ports, only sockets. Queue almost an hour of trying to speak to someone who wasn’t even in the hotel and explain that I need an adaptor. The next morning, the lovely Ms Kellen brought one up first thing and also invited me to Breakfast. The Hotel has a very handy timeline downstairs which shows how busy the Breakfast Room will be during the morning. I wouldn’t say the room décor is something I would personally choose ; the room was rather basic but had a wardrobe with hangers, chair, desk and the bathroom had refillable toiletries. The adorable fluffy rabbit named Andre (toy not a real rabbit) was a cute addition to my room ! An Iron and Ironing board was requested for my stay. The Hotel offers secured and locked luggage storage. There were no blackout curtains in my room, meaning brightness was strong in the morning especially when you consider it was very snowy outside. A security feature needs to be peepholes in the door. During my first Breakfast, I saw that Ms Kellen was managing reception, breakfast and attending to guest needs, always with a smile. She is positive and a great ambassador for the hotel. I was really touched at how respectful she was towards my religious dietary needs and had a plate prepared separately beforehand. Ms Annika helped me with tourist info and helped me other guests arrived but she said she
