We were pretty disappointed with our stay at this hotel on a Saturday night in early March. There were just too many things wrong for the price we were charged. Our problems started when we were told that the breakfast was from 6 to 8 a.m. -- only until 8 a.m. even though the sign in the lobby said 9. And this was on the morning after the spring-forward time change! The odor of **** was everywhere also, in the lobby and in the hall outside our room, but that was the least of it really. Inside our room, the main drapes were damaged, hanging improperly, and the semi-sheer drapes were in tatters. We later discovered that the reason we could hear so much noise from outside was that the windows were actually too big to have been properly installed. There was a quarter-inch gap in the middle preventing a complete seal. In the bathroom, we found wash cloths behind the door that had been left by previous guests and unnoticed by the housekeeping staff. And the sink had actually been plumbed backwards -- hot water was going to the right side and cold to the left. The electric switch in the bathroom had been installed upside down. You had to flip it down to turn the light on. Other than that, things were fairly OK. There was a lot of wear on the carpets in the hallways. But for the price we paid -- more than $100 a night even at a discounted rate -- we definitely expect better. We question the authenticity of anyone who has ever given this place a five-star rating. For $60 a night, we might have gotten what we paid for.
