Poor, unlit disabled access. No disabled accessible to let so could only stay for one drink before I had to leave. If there had been suitable facilities I'd have stayed and spent more money in the bar and been happy to recommend it. Staff weren't keen to help but I guess down to the owners to rectify the problems.

Lovely from outside, inside not so much…. I literally google searched “faulty towers hotel” upon entering this hotel. It’s noisy, creaky, dirty, and breakfast is nasty. I could hear the couple staying in the room above us using the toilet during the night. There must be nicer choices, so if I were you I would search further. It’s really a shame because it has such potential.

Whilst the building is awesome from the outside, inside it needs to be much improved. It is sad, in need of TLC and brightening up. The dining room is pleasant. The lift is not in use. It's dark and not welcoming. Our room was small, poorly decorated, old fashioned in a shabby way and the window was firmly stuck open. It was clean and the beds were comfy. The en suite badly needs updating. Breakfast was ok. Can't say more than that. Outside the grounds are completely neglected. Such a shame. It could be a beautiful hotel but at the moment, it's not.

Stay else where this hotel was a disgrace from time we checked in till we left room was not cleaned or beds made during our stay we waited over a hour for breakfast on both mornings which was not worth the wait we ate in the first night and again waited over a hour as there is only 1 chief who then came out and wiped the sweat from her face with a tea towel we asked for a manager and 2 weeks home still they have not got back to us. As you can see from the photos the room and bathroom was a disgrace and tv did not work AVOID

My wife booked this place for a one night stay back in May so we could collect our son from university. Pulling up to the place I was impressed, wonderful looking building from the outside, car park and garden area short of some maintenance however. We attempted check in at the scheduled time, to be told by the very young Chinese lad who spoke quite broken English that the room wasn’t ready yet. To kill time I took a trip to the toilet, where I was greeted by two males and a female coming out of one of the cubicles carrying a packet of what I assume was sherbet dip, but I could be mistaken.. We managed check in eventually, and were taken to our room by the young lad from reception. The signage leading to the rooms was erm interesting, and set the president for the stay. The room was a bit tired looking and not in keeping with the style of the property. The bathroom was in need of renovating and didn’t appear very clean imo. There was no iron in the room and this proved to be impossible to resolve, the young lad after we Google translated what an iron was, said he would bring us one but this never materialised. So out we went looking like students ourselves. Whilst sat in a restaurant in Stirling, my better half received a few Whattsapp messages from our little friend on reception, stating we hadn’t paid for our room and could we come back and sort this…. Now, slightly concerning is the fact this came from what looked like a personal account not a business one, and surely this is somehow a breach of GDPR taking a clients number? Maybe not….We had booked and paid via an online booking app, but the messages continued until my wife said we will sort when we get back etc. Now upon returning to get some sleep this is where the fun began….. The gap around our door (wouldn’t pass a fire test) let in beams of light everytime someone used the corridor, and when I say beams of light I mean we were expecting someone to burst through declaring ‘Tonight Matthew I’m gunna be’ followed by smoke and bad music.. see pics.. This was constant btw, eventually I managed to fall into the land of nod. Only to be awoken around 2-3am by what sounded like Japanese/chinese game shows on a TV, full BLAST in the middle of the night, followed by someone emptying buckets of water into a toilet, mopping a floor, and moving furniture/chairs around…… this went on for quite some time. The Stars in your eyes continued throughout the night, along with the Japanese sounding game show TV 📺 on full blast. I honestly thought my Wife had booked some kind of comedy hotel and I was being filmed, like a Karen’s diner, but hotel edition. This wasn’t the case and I wouldn’t ever stop here again, it’s such a wonderful building to look at despite being rebuilt and not completely original. But it lacks so much to meet its true potential. Yes it’s a delayed review but I have just recovered the pictures to support it. Not for me this one.

This is a lovely, quirky hotel. From the first moment we arrived, the staff were lovely and very helpful. There was a lovely young lad sweeping the parking area, he immediately asked could he help us, but we were ok, he was busy enough. A lovely young lady on the reception took us to our room. Nice room, good bathroom. We would have liked a view, but it was only a 1 night stopover stay. The bar staff were very nice and we sat outside in the lovely sunshine. We didn’t have an evening meal but did have a very nice breakfast. The bed was fine, TV could have been bigger and maybe put on the wall as it took up most of the only useable area to put anything. No facility really in the room to do my makeup but I had my own mirror with me anyway. I had to sit on the bed to do this. Very good value for money. Better size towels than a Premier Inn we had just been in for 3 nights. To the owner of the hotel, please buy that lovely young lad brushing the outside a leaf blower! He was still at it the next day!

The most bare basic hotel I’ve ever stayed in which did not reflect the price we paid. Dirty room with food particles in the rickety poor quality 2 seater sofa and hairs in the bedding. No hot water for the bath just Luke warm not ideal when you’ve been hiking up castles and monuments all day. Staff very lazy didn’t even bother to take price stickers off the bin and baskets In the bathroom which were from a cheap tacky shop called B&M. Out side the front of the property was a lot of delivery kitchen tray mess inviting I can only imagine pests. Over all expensive night in a cheap hotel I would not recommend unless you like that kind of thing We didn’t eat our paid for breakfast as we couldn’t stand the thought of it
