We are pet friendly please just message us letting us know you have a pet coming with you so we can approve them for your stay and send you the pet fee. We love all dogs, however we do ask that you ask our permission prior to booking and pay the dog fee. The main level features a living room, Vaulted ceilings, Bear decor throughout the cozy cabin, flat screen TV in the living room, brand new queen size sleeper sofa, recliner, child’s rocking chair, and toys/ books for children. The bedroom features a brand new plush pillow top queen size mattress , tv, nightstand, bear lamp, and chest of drawers in the closet. The closet also has extra blankets, pillows for the sleeper sofa, a large comforter for the sleeper sofa, and extra sheets. There is also hangers in the closet. You will also find an iron and iron board if needed.There is also fully equipped kitchen and dining table, full bathroom/shower/ tub, and washer/dryer. We have a new Keruig that takes pods and will take ground coffee. We provide coffee pods and seasonal pods in the drawer below the Keurig. The deck features a 2 person hot tub and outdoor patio seating area. During the evening you may see deer crossing through the yard. In the morning, you will hear the birds singing. Enjoy a cup of coffee from the deck and watch the sunrise.The yard is very large for children to run around, dogs to play, and adults to play corn hole! The corn hole boards are in the shed. There is also a picnic table and grill around back!Take a walk around the neighborhood. The cottage has one immediate neighbor that shares river access. The far-end of the property leads in NPS land, which is open to the public for about the next 6 miles. It is all open for you to explore. We have a trail leading down to the rapids down river.Guest accessThe yard is shared with another house (that we own as well). Feel free to use any and all river access and all of the fire-pits on property (3 total). Down-river is all NPS land and is open to the public, we have a trail extending to the falls below, and beyond. Thanks, enjoy!Other things to noteThe cottage is located next to a railroad track. Feel free to use the fire pit between the two houses and any of the river access from the fence down. Down river, there is a private trail that leads to a fire pit and rock beach. The Big House is located in the New River Gorge National Park, the newest national park. There is access to Sandstone Landing's patio alongside the New River. It is a fully furnished home with outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a beautiful view of the river. It is a great starting point for exploring all the beautiful sites and attractions that southern West Virginia and the New River Gorge have to offer.To get to the home, you will go across railroad tracks, we are near the railroad tracks. It is in a small, friendly neighborhood. You can walk to Sandstone General Store and Eatery to get any necessities you may have forgotten for your trip or get a meal.If you plan to fish, there is also a bait and tackle store. Be sure to have a WV fishing license to be able to fish, though. The sandstone boat launch is within walking distance of the house.An extra that we provide our guests is access to the Sandstone Landings patio on the river, this is a shared space with our Sandstone Landings guests. It is just a short walk from the home. The upper level of the patio is equipped with a dining table and chairs. Lower level of patio has outdoor furniture to enjoy the river view or to sit in while you fish in the New River.Please remember to add your pets to your booking if you will be bringing your furry friends with you. Wal-Mart does deliver here. Guests will access the home via a completely private check-in. The door code and map link will come early on the day of arrival via your messages. Walmart does deliver here. The “million dollar view” was coined by a guest and we hope it meets your expectations. Many of us are working to make sure you enjoy this Mountaintop Retreat. We provide initial supplies. If you need more of something it will be up to you to provide them. There is a store within 10 minutes. We love coffee. There is a Keurig machine and a regular coffee machine that makes pots and cups. We provide 15 Keurig cups per guest stay. Outdoor furniture, fire pit, and smoker grill included with each booking at no extra cost. We do sell firewood for $10 per large bag.We recommend 4x4 or all wheel drive from December to mid March. We keep our road plowed so it’s usually in good shape but winter storms can happen during these months.The two best things this mountain has to offer is the stars on a clear night and the sun rises up behind the view and is one of the most beautiful things you'll see all year. When the sun rises it allows you to see just a little further than during the day. Mushroom Trail 🍄 is now open and free to all guests. It features over 60 different giant mushrooms, giant flowers, and a large natural sandbox to give your little ones something to do. Giant connect 4, & corn hole boards are also on site and free to use. Please no business use or parties without owner written consent. We do have outdoor security cameras on site mainly for theft.
