Before arriving, I read reviews of this hotel. Many 1 star ratings with confusing reviews. When we arrived, the reception area is beautiful with a gorgeous view of the sea. There is also a bar and restaurant downstairs. We were on the second floor and there were stains on the carpet in the hallway, but that didn’t affect my hotel room. We walked in the hotel room and it was clean, brand new and spacious. The bathroom was so clean and big. The only criticism of the bathroom is that it doesn’t have an electrical outlet. The room had lots of storage and was well planned. The hotel is about 20 minutes from old town Split so we ate dinner in the hotel. We also had breakfast there. The food was great! Don’t be scared off from the one star reviews!

Great hotel close enough to old town for a quick walk to the palace, yet just far enough away that it’s still quiet and easy to get to and from. Staff is great and being able to park the rental car overnight in the garage made a world of difference. Will come back and will stay here again.

Stayed here as part of a tour. The Hotel itself isn't too bad, nice rooms, mini bar, room safe & a good size TV. The bathroom is nice. However, they have squeeze bottle soap dispensers, which are a bit annoying. Breakfast was okay, but there was nothing to rave about. Staff were nice & friendly. There is a supermarket nearby and a shopping mall a short walk away. However the location is a bit out of the tourist part of town & I'm sure if yiur a tourist you could find something closer to attractions

The hotel is located in the old city, which is full of various hotels and restaurants, so it is not very good to find, but their service is very good, you don't need to find a hotel, they will go to you, then take you over, and Helping to transport your luggage and reserve a parking space. After check-in, you will be given an English brief introduction of all the attractions, and one by one will help you to mark it on the map. The room is a five-star standard room. Although the old town is very noisy, it is almost only closed. I can hear the bells of the clock tower, the soundproof is good, the breakfast is a little simple, but fortunately, I can also order a little egg rolls, pancakes and the like, which is quite good.

Lovely small, friendly hotel situated away from the busy seafront but within easy reach of everything including the palace. We found the breakfast amble with lots of choices and always freshly prepared. Room was a good size and very clean, fresh towels and bed made every day. Bar did close early but it was still nice to have afternoon or pre-dinner drinks in the garden always served with a smile. Maya was amazing, always greeted us with a smile and wanted to hear how our day went. Maya shared her knowledge about the best sites to visit during our stay with all the details on how to get there and make the most of it. She also recommended and booked restaurants for us, nothing was ever too much trouble. Thankyou so much Maya I wish you and the Hotel all the best for the future.

This hotel is fantastic. Other than being right in the heart of the old town, a few metres away from anything you need, it is quiet, classy and clean. What makes it stand out though are the staff. We'd made an error - that could have ended terribly for us as a family on the last day of our holiday - and turned up in desperate need of some human thoughtfulness, and they were utterly brilliant. Calmly, they sorted our problem without asking any questions or making us feel awkward. The professionalism and standard of service is the best I have received in any 4 star hotel in Europe in a long, long time. Other than it being a great location, lovely brekkie etc, it is its staff that make the hotel so great.

Outstanding
The Room was incredibly beautiful, clean and had design elements from the 13th century. The staff was wonderful helped with dinner reservations and quit a few recommendations for dinner , all were very good ! Super friendly staff . There is no elevator, a staff member met us at parking garage to help with our luggage, he was great , loves to talk about American films and music ! Be aware that you are right around the corner from a major square so you may hear some evening noise and the garbage /delivery trucks in the morning.
GGuest UserWe only stayed at House Sandra for one night but really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect. It’s a 10 minute walk to the old town / tourist area - far enough away to be out of the noise of the town but easily close enough to walk in and out. There is a supermarket less than a 5 minute walk and a nice pizza restaurant just 2 minutes walk away. The room we had was on the top floor. (A bit tricky taking a large, heavy suitcase up the stairs to the entrance hall and again to the main room - but you only have to do it once). The room was really spacious with a fridge, coffee machine, and some plates and cutlery. It had good air conditioning and the TV had Netflix and Amazon Prime installed (although you need your own account details). There was also a large sofa which could easily sleep another person. The bathroom was also a good size - it had a shower but no bath. Everything was spotless. I can’t think of anything bad / negative to say about House Sandra.
GGuest UserThe Briig is an absolutely beautiful hotel. From the moment you step inside you are greeted with sweetly perfumed air and a light and airy reception. The staff at front desk were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed a room with a lovely view of the sea and a window that fully opens so as to enjoy the sea breeze. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the heart of Split - perfect if wanting to walk off a meal. It feels like a quiet paradise away from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast is very well presented but we were initially not notified that there is a breakfast menu that we could order from - it was strangely hidden away from guests. We are also not initially asked if we wanted coffee or tea and thought that we had to get our own from the basic coffee machine. There was an actual coffee machine that we eventually noticed and had to ask someone for a coffee. The air conditioning is also controlled from reception - but they are happy to set it to whatever temperature you desire . The room we booked had a large kind bed and as I was traveling with a friend, they were nice enough to equip the bed with separate bedding for each of us .
GGuest UserIt is a good option for you if you drive since the hotel is located 15 minutes from Split old town. It is a fair distance to drive to the centre. The hotel is new and clean with a modern interior design of the room which makes it pleasant to stay. The well design of the hotel room makes it feel spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast is relatively simple with not much choice but that does not bother us since Split has many great restaurants out there waiting for us.
Overall, I am satisfied with this stay and would recommend this hotel since it is clean and beautiful.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in an incredible location, at an incredible price. The room and building were very clean with great facilities, though some of the room furniture, like the desk chair, could use a bit of a refurbishment. This however for most travelers will be no issue as you will want to be out and about exploring the city and using the room as just a home base. I will absolutely come and stay again, and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Split and my stay at Slavija. It can be a bit hard to find to those new to the winding streets, but the location is perfect for an unforgettable trip. Thanks to the staff at the Slavija for an incredible stay!
GGuest UserLocated on the first floor of a 4 storey block in a secondary area, a ten minute walk North of the centre, the external impression is underwhelming. However the warm and friendly greeting at reception and the small, but very nicely finished and immaculately clean, ensuite room changed our feeling. The continental breakfast buffet was provided in a small room but with a lovely choice of fresh and interesting choices which varied each day. Once we got used to the area we found the walk down to the historical centre quite enjoyable with various small bars and cafes catering for locals at a much reduced cost. Using local buses and a small 'road train' we explored Kris Castle (30 mins) and the coastal forest park alongside the architectural delights of the old town. A very relaxed and enjoyable few days to balance the week on Hvar Island which preceded our stay. A convenient 30 minute taxi to the airport on the last morning avoided a hectic, taxi-boat-taxi return. We would stay again.
GGuest UserWe stayed for a week in early October, and had a great time. First of all, the reception staff were really good - friendly, helpful, seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing, and if they could help etc. Excellent. We were on floor 3 (room 2) which meant we had a great view over the roofs with the sea in the distance. The balcony was small but big enough for a couple of seats and a table, and it had the sun from dawn until dusk. The room itself was nice - really large bed, and as it was a fairly big room, plenty of space for two people to walk around and not get in each others way! Fridge and safe were both included at no extra charge. Breakfast was nice - plenty to fill us up and serving until 11am meant there was no rush. Location wise, we found it ideal. Being in the old city would be nice, but this is only a short walk away (20 mins?) and could be either along the beach (paved path the whole way) or was a simple straight road down through the town. We did get a few Ubers which cost 5.50 each way. We're happy as long as we're in easy reach of the action. The beaches are a 5-10 minutes walk - depending on your preference for sand/pebbles/rocks, you can just walk along the path until you find a spot you like as there's a bit of everything. Shops and bars along the seafront too, so that's good if you need anything. The swimming pool area was quiet and relaxing - plenty of sun during the day, and although the pool itself was cold, it was really nice once you're in! Although it's only a few minutes walk to quite lively shops/cafes/bars, the hotel was just off a quiet street and felt really calm considering how close everything was. Overall we were really pleased with our choice, no complaints at all (we did have a noisy air con unit outside on the wall, but this was sorted the same day as we mentioned it - again, great work from the staff!) If we find ourselves in Split again, then I would be more than happy to stay here!
GGuest UserWe had a lovely four-night stay at this hotel, tucked away in the Diocletian Palace. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The included breakfast was very good indeed. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed we’ve had anywhere, and we’ve tried a fair few! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and hopefully we’ll be back!
WWDavidThe Hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I enjoyed the homey atmosphere.
However, there are a few things one should be aware of before booking: The hotel is in the historic district just about 5 min walk west from the Prominade area. Taxis cannot drive in, so it is necessary to walk in with one's baggage. Also, any excursions will start with a walk out of the area to the main taxi stand. Navigating the area can be a challenge the first couple of times; one MUST have the ability to use their maps app. T-mobile - America has an international plan that give you up to 2G speed unlimited data and texting, but I highly recommend getting a local sim card. Look at the map of the city before choosing this hotel. There are a lot of nice restaurants within 2-5 minutes walking. Furthermore, the office closes from 11pm till 7am. Most importantly, they DO NOT take credit cards. IF you did not pay for the room online, you will need local cash, and you will need it to pay the taxes on the room, and for a taxi if you booked it through the hotel. Cash only. (They do have a zelle option, but I could not get it to work. I recommend cash. Speaking of cash, one should get it from an actual bank ATM as the rates 11% vs the 22-25% some private ATMs charge.)
I give the hotel 4 of 5 for comfort, 5/5 for cleanliness, 3 or 5 for location.
I'd give this hotel
GGuest UserThe hotel is located on the third floor of a small shopping mall to the east of the ancient city wall. It is easy to find and the location is very convenient. It is a 2-minute walk to the ancient city. Although it is a small hotel similar to a bed and breakfast, the room layout facilities are basically complete, clean, and the size is reasonable. There is only one person in charge at the front desk, who is very serious and responsible, and answers all questions. There are not many hotels in Priest, so I highly recommend this hotel in terms of cost performance.
