Premier Inn Southend Airport

Room was a bit tired looking, funny smell too. Needs modernization as lacked basics such as USB charging sockets. Had a long drive and a funeral to attend so tried to get an evening meal in restaurant only to be turned away as had not booked a table and told they were not accepting walk ins despite staying at hotel, very disappointed.

Nice to arrive in a car park with decently-spaced bays! I got a great, warm and friendly welcome at reception, and made my way to my spacious, spotless room. It may be called the "Airport Hotel", but don't worry about any intruding aircraft noise from any occasional take-offs or landings... presumably the place is extremely well-built, insulated and sound-proofed as I got a completely peaceful evening and one of the best night's sleep I've ever had.

Super friendly and efficient staff (a real credit to Premier Inn) that couldn't do enough for me. Comfortable clean, room and bed. Very quiet considering the location. Easy check in, easy check out. I did report an issue with the shower, but that didn't make the stay any less enjoyable. Great customer service. Highly recommended.

We were seeing family and friends and attending work events and it was a busy and fast-paced few days and the staff at Premier Inn, Southend Airport were so kind and helpful; very efficient and friendly for the whole of our stay. As always, the beds were superbly comfortable and room well appointed. We were grateful to have a little oasis of calm and one staffed by lovely and professional staff. The atmosphere was calm and lovely throughout.

I was first allocated a room which was already taken. Highly embarrassing to walk into a room already occupied. Reception apologised and allocated me another room. All along the bottom floor, roof tiles were bowing in and the whole place needs a refurb. Room was ok, not the cleanest place and extractor fan absolutely crazy loud. Weird brown paint stain in the bath. This is not a new premier inn and whilst it does have a/c, it is not as nice as some of the newer premier inn's

Unfortunately there was a disgusting smell coming from the bath & sink. When we told the girls at reception they said they’d send someone up. We asked to be moved but were told the premier was fully booked. We were getting ready for a wedding, we waited 15 mins & then we had to start getting ready. When someone finally came it was 2 young girls with a bleach & bathroom cleaners. They were very polite but at that point simple bleach was not going to mask the horrific, vile smell. We got ready very quickly & left to go to the wedding. We told the girls at reception that we wanted to log a complaint as it was unacceptable to book rooms out that are not up to standard. They said they would log it on the day in question, Sat 31st August. They told me to log in a complaint via Tripadvisor as it’s monitored by the Premier Inn. If I don’t get any joy I’ll be calling up head office. Suffice to say a very poor stay. Gave it 2 stars because the young girls tried their best but in all reality needed maintenance personnel to deal with the situation not receptionists.

We came to Essex to visit elderly parents. We needed somewhere comfortable and quiet nearby, where we could relax and unwind. We were able to book a room we know to be quiet and spacious. All was very comfortable and quiet. The room was clean and had all we needed. We also had breakfast which was very ggod. The staff were polite and helpful; working calmly and diligently during a busy breakfast period.

Everything about my stay was great: Value for money, good soundproofing, comfy bed, Wifi, good breakfast, convenient location. Only thing missing was Lenny Henry! I would stay at a Premier Inn again.

Waiter forgot to bring our drinks so after 20 minutes we found them on a tray at the bar so got them ourselves, Given wrong food, waiter forgot to bring the sauces after asking us if we’d like any. Food didn’t taste very nice. Over charged for kids meals , Breakfast the next morning was very disappointing. Dried up bacon with no taste, fried eggs hard, scrambled eggs didn’t taste like egg, asked for beans but didn’t get any. Short lady waitress with grey hair very stressed, asked for a spoon and answered saying she wished she had a magic button she could press so everything was there. Not as much choice as usual for a premier inn breakfast. Usually the breakfast is very nice in other premier inn we have been to . Hotel reception staff very polite and helpful
