The Sea Hotel

Me and my partner, we both enjoyed our stay at the Sea Hotel. The only downside we experienced was that we had to pay £20 for 1 hour late check out. It's very expensive as most hotels don't charge for the first hour.

Staff friendly and good service . Rooms were good with good amenities. Bathrooms adequate but dated .

Our party of four, two of those were hotel guests dropped in for Coffee & cake this afternoon. We were looked after by Hannah who had clearly brought the sunshine back with her from her recent holiday in Tenerife, her smile, chat & customer service would brighten up anyone's day. The coffee & cake were lovely as was hannahs attempt at Coffee art think it began as a smiley face but ended up looking like a ghost very apt for halloween x

Great location, ideal for curry houses on Ocean Road and value for money. Room was comfortable though not particularly large. Radiator in bathroom did not work We were in room 104 which was out of the reach of the Wi-Fi signal Staff were friendly and polite Overall fairly good but if in South Shields again would probably try somewhere else

I stayed at the Sea Hotel for two nights whilst visiting family in South Shields. Having read the other reviews on here I can assure you it really isn’t that bad! Yes, some parts of the place are a little dated and could maybe do with some love but we paid £80 per night on a weekend which is outstanding value for money (most places in the area were over £100 a night). The place was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was good value for money. We had breakfast both days which included cereal, orange and apple juice, yoghurts and pastries for free, we had a delicious steak for dinner on the Saturday night and the family joined us for a roast on the Sunday which was very tasty, especially considering it’s £14.95 for three courses!! The best part of this hotel is the location - beautiful view of the park, sea front literally over the road. Also a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre and the metro. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people coming to visit South Shields. It’s no frills but you aren’t paying for frills so it’s fine!!

Should shut this DUMP down, a disgraceful hotel the manager I believe is called Chris he should not be employed in the hospitality trade. Never again will we return, glad to get back home, rooms damp food second class, some of the staff ok the rest ignorant.

I booked 3 rooms for my employees. They reported, with photos, that the rooms were in bad condition. I asked for a refund to be told no. I then asked for a partial refund and was told the manager would get in touch. I still haven’t heard anything 3 weeks on.

No lifts,room in bad need of an uplift. Clothes rail on wall ,my 6ft 2inch husband ended up with a gash on his head because of it,if he'd looked up,he'd have seriously damaged his eye or worse. Stop cutting corners, we will never stay here again.
