Australia Park Motel

The motel should check the rooms before they allocate it on the website for booking. I booked a Deluxe Triple Room and received a double room with an external door that would not lock, leaving it open to the public to enter. I was then moved into a single room with five beds with the excuse that the owner is not there to fix the lock and there were no other rooms available. Will not recommend anyone to this motel.

Took a chance and pulled into the Alabasta Motel, Oxley St, Taree NSW on the off chance they had a vacancy. Manager on duty, friendly,, Polite, courteous and very helpful. Gave us a room with a car space in front of the room. The room was spacious, very clean, well appointed, facilities to make tea or coffee, double bed very comfortable. Accidently left valuable puffer jacket on lounge and didn't realise e had left it there for abu 2 weeks. Phoned Motel, spoke with Evi the cleaner and she confirmed we had left it there, she had found it and had placed it into a lost property cupboard. Very happy to get it back, Also, the pub directly across the road sells great food.

On a recent trip this was the cheapest of 15 motels we stayed at. Unlike other reviews though, we found it provided exceptional value for money. Very large room with two very comfortable double beds. Good shower. Air-con and wi-fi worked well. Separated from a very pleasant River parkland by a quite busy road. But with the double glazing we hardly even knew it was there. Sure, the rooms are a tad dated and would benefit from a refurb, and the cleaning was adequate rather than great. But we appreciated the big, airy, well equipped room at a most reasonable price.

The biggest room! What a great location, just opposite the park, right with all amenities, and walking tracks! Only thing missing was a double element (portable stove) or an electric fry pan or something - only thing cook wise was a microwave

This would have to be the worst accommodation we have ever stayed at. Walking into the room we knew it was not to be good. I would say nearly original furniture old side bedside table with peeling laminate in sides. Beds uncomfortable. Stained chairs. Shower pressure worst I've ever had would have taken a very long time to wash hair, so I didn't I would not recommend this property.

Simply awful. The room had dreadful odours, the bathroom was dangerous, the bedding had hairs all through the sheets and felt dirty. I would think twice about leaving a stray cat there. Thinking the motel is being utilised for business activities not normally associated with a motel.

This is quite simply one of the worst motels in Australia. Our room was not clean and came with cereal left on the bench, dirt in the bathroom and mould on the windows. Don’t believe the photos online, you’re more likely to experience what we did (see attached images) which included odd and broken furniture, a stained lampshade and bathroom linen as thin as tea towels. The service was (almost) non-existent and when we asked about breakfast we were referred to a nearby bakery probably because staff couldn’t be bothered fixing our breakfast for the next day. As it’s on a main road, there’s also quite a bit of traffic noise. The only positive feedback we had were that the beds weren’t terrible and most (not all) TV channels actually worked! If this motel had the only last remaining room in Albury I’d probably opt to keep driving. Absolutely terrible.

Having booked a 4 night stay in this a cheaper Motel we arrived without too many expectations. Checked in and upon receiving our room key proceeded to settle in only to be greeted by an enormous ashtray at the bottom of the stair to the upstairs rooms and unfortunately adjacent to our front door accompanied by the gentle wafting of stale cigarette smoke from the smokers area. Did the tour of our room and were a little underwhelmed with the state of the bathroom facilities which were by no means clean and again filled with the pungent smell of stale tobacco as the bathroom was situated pretty much under the stair, note also this motel advertises as a non-smoking premises !! Furthermore the fridge door wouldn't shut properly and although advertised as having FREE wi-fi, unfortunately for us connection to the wi-fi was still not achievable after various attempts on the various devices we had with us. Receptionist unable to shed any light on that at all. After a discussion with the receptionist regarding fridge, wi-fi etc and she inspected the fridge door personally, we were offered a room situated immediately above our current abode which we accepted, moved all our goods and chattels and re-settled in. This room was to be fair somewhat more up to date and at first glance, cleaner. Wife wanted to go for a swim in the advertised pool -- NOT available, we further learned that the advertised free breakfast was -- NOT available and the advertised restaurant was -- NOT available. I'd hazard a guess here and say it hadn't operated for some time but all these facilities are still advertised as being available. Days 1, 2 and 3 went ok no hitch, day four was one for the books !!! Received early morning call from unknown mobile which I ignored and went to message. Thirty seconds later received text message from the motel advising us to vacate our room as we were being evicted as a result of her accusing us of having a dog in our room and we had therefore breached the house rules and furthermore she has cctv footage of our supposed wrong doing ???? Just for the record we had no dog with us !!! Where does this person get this from ?? My wife immediately went down to set the record straight but was met in reception by a very brash and aggressive female manager ( or owner ) of the property who was not about to listen but shouted her down and told her to get out and she was calling the police !!! Needless to say this all went from bad to worse, we just packed up our gear and vacated but not before I also went to reception to return the key only to be met by the same arrogant, disrespectful and loud individual advising us we would not be receiving any refunds but would be charged the full accommodation costs plus cleaning costs for the room which she claimed she had been told to do by the local police. Note here that to date no dog had turned up or been seen anywhere and they had also watched us pack the car !! After advising her of our position in this,

We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children. Price was cheap and just needed one night as we were traveling to Queensland from Victoria so thought why not, looks ok. We arrive and check in, go to check our room and we only have 2 beds. My partner said its ok cause the couch probably folds out so we can probably just make do for the night. To our surprise when he folds out the couch it has mouse poo all over it, like it hadn't been cleaned in God knows how long. I then went to speak to the owner and address the bed situation and the disgusting state of the room. He did not want to address the mouse poo or anything but upgrading me if I pay extra. Why would I pay extra for another room when for 1- it is there responsibilitie to clean the room and 2- i didn't even have the right number of beds. And probably no better than the last room anyway. Tried to get a refund of any sort was a nightmare as I had to go through agoda. He made up lies and said I had 6 people stay when I can't even fit 6 people in my car and definitely didn't have 6 people. Never again will I stay in that town. Do your self a favor and pay extra and find elsewhere to stay. There's a few pictures so you can get and idea of what its like. Absolutely disgusting rooms and owners.
