The hotel is connected to the beach and the sea. The environment is great. The food in the restaurant is delicious and delicious. The breakfast buffet is too crowded and the service is not very timely. The overall value for money is good. You need to book in advance. It's always full.

The hotel is close to the train station and the old town, with convenient transportation. Staff service is good. The room is spacious, but the facilities are average, which is significantly different from the five-star standard. The room facilities are four-star at most. As a five-star hotel, this price is really beautiful. The dissatisfaction is that the two single-bed rooms are not big beds but two small beds. This is suitable for families and for one person. It is not right, asking for a big bed to be pushed off, the pool gym service is not good, no need for bath towels, the room is generally good, compare the price of the surrounding five-star hotel is the best

Although billed as a five star hotel, do not expect five star by Western European standards. This is not a criticism as it was anticipated by us, so we were not underwhelmed because we managed our expectations. Before you visit this resort, it is important to do just that - manage expectations.  Therefore, I am reviewing from that point of view, rather than from what I would normally expect of a five star hotel and am.comparing it to other, similar resorts I have visited. First impressions were very good, with a grand looking Middle Eastern / Persian style reception area which was clean, nicely furnished and cool with good air conditioning. Despite being 2am, we were met by a friendly receptionist, given small flower necklaces and a cold bottle of water each. We filled out some paperwork and were asked to pay around 80 dinars in local tax. This wasn't expected or explained anywhere, however, I subsequently found out it is normal and legal practice. We then made our way to our room and our luggage was brought to us. As a family of four, with two teenage children, I had booked a Junior Suite because the description on their website describes them as two bedroom suites, with a queen bed in one, and two singles in the other, with a separate living area. This criteria was a huge influence for us as we not only wanted separate bedrooms, but also really wanted a separate living area to relax during the evenings or other free time we had. We were disappointed to walk in and find just two interconnected bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two singles. There was no sitting room. Each bedroom had a balcony with a couple of chairs and a table and the main bedroom had a large bathroom with a big walk in shower, sink and toilet. The other bedroom had a separate toilet. Other than the disappointment of no sitting room, the bedrooms were comfortable enough, clean and nicely furnished. I spoke to the reception in the morning and explained that we had booked a suite with a sitting room. I was told that they do not have such suites. They only have the Junior Suites, which we had and are all set up like ours, or a prestige suite, which has one bedroom with a queen bed and a separate sitting room, however these, I was told, only accommodate two people. I even showed the guy the description and pictures on their own website (attached) but he insisted they do not have rooms like this and the pictures under the description of the junior suite are actually from two different rooms - the junior suite and the prestige suite. I explained that we were disappointed as we had specifically chosen and paid for something else, but there was nothing he could do and offered nothing other than an apology. I told them they need to redesign their website as it is clearly deceiving. Having read previous reviews, we had no issues with our in room air conditioning - it was in fact, very effective. Dar Antonia is located in the Sousse Medina ; a wonderful Tunisian palace, converted into a boutique hotel. It only has a few rooms, hence not a lot of staff and it may be difficult to find someone at times. The place oozes charm, but comes with some practical disadvantages : lots of stairs to get anywhere, open bathroom, open toilet, noise from other rooms, etc It has a very upmarket (= expensive) restaurant, where a sensational fresh breakfast is served. A great rooftop space with a ”pool”, but it is the size of a spa ; a superb place to have a drink, but it proved to be hard to order any, as they have to come from the restaurant, two floors down (by stairs). Overall, Dar Antonia is your best choice if you like authentic charm and are prepared to put up with the impracticalities that are inherent to an old building.

While a bit difficult to find within the medina's winding streets, the hotel is a lovely, hidden gem that both me and my father loved. You're greeted by the lovely owner with two small kittens that are just adorable. Our room was well furnished, air conditioned and had a very clean bathroom. The roof terrace offers a great view of the Sousse skyline and Medina and is perfect at night to enjoy the call to prayers. Breakfast was served in the main court area of the hotel. Very nicely decorated and the breakfast was very traditional. Nothing too heavy, but still filling nonetheless. You know care and love went into making it.

I stayed here as a female sole traveller for 2 weeks in July. After reaaing some of the bad reviews I was a bit unsure. Yes its daed as are most apartments in Tunisia but its spotlessly clean, Bedding and towels were changed daily great views scros to the besch and location straight across from the beach 10TD for parasol and sunbed for the day and all of the staff are nice and friendly. There is a cafe directly below for anything you need and the apartments are very spacious. Yes its loud at night as its on a main road with a lot of bars and night club. I used ear plugs and had no problems sleeping. I am a very fussy person when it comes to apartments and hotels and I would definatey recommend and stay again
