Hotel Gardenia Sorrento

I made some mistakes with the booking -- completely my fault and those booking requests were non refundable. The manager there and everyone else was so kind, helpful and understanding -- they went the extra mile to help me even when they didn't have to. So, they really care about people and go the extra mile. I can recommend them highly again and again! Thank you!

Hotel was immaculate, super clean and walking distance to everything. The bar had amazing service and breakfast served in the morning was fantastic. But the difference maker here was the staff. They are amazing people and truly genuine. 🙌

We stayed as a family of 5 on the strength of previous reviews posted on here and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in during a torrential downpour we were made to feel welcome by the attentive staff. This continued throughout our stay , always asking if we were happy and if we needed anything. The breakfast was tremendous with a slightly different offering each morning. On an evening free appetisers were on offer to have alongside drinks. Although we did not use the pool during this visit , it is a good size and the terrace offers great views of Vesuvius and bay of Naples. The hotel’s location is a 10 min walk from sorrento train station and 12-15 min from the old town. All of which is a fairly flat easy stroll. There are a good selection of bars and amenities with a couple of 100 yards from hotel entrance. Rooms were cleaned daily and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again . Thanks for the memories.

Stayed here for 5 nights in September 2024. We stayed in room # 209 which is a superior room with balcony and sea view. I will break the report down under the areas that mattered most to us. Location: Located on the busy Corsa Italia, a 10 minute walk from bus and train station and a 15 minute walk from Piazza Tasso. Although a busy road you hear no noise inside the hotel. Check in / Out: Nice and smooth. The hotel actually rang me on the morning we were due to arrive to find out our arrival time so that they could ensure our room was ready. Overall, all hotel staff were exceptionally professional and friendly. Room: Good size with a large balcony overlooking the pool. The air con worked well and room was very clean. Bathroom was a good size although shower was a bit on the small size. Breakfast: Excellent choice and service. The hotel also offers a "happy hour" in the evenings with discounted drinks and free snacks. Pool: The pool is actually shared with the hotel next store. However, it was never particularly busy and plenty of free loungers. There is a poolside bar that serves food. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily stay here again.

Gardenia hotel gives itself 3 or 4 stars. For a 3 or 4 stars hotel, I give 5 points here on TA. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful. I stayed there 5 nights with my family of four in a family room. We were offered welcome drinks on arrival. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was very nice, with several options of fresh fruits, juices, cakes, breads, delicious pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, and so on. Could we say it is something like a full “continental breakfast”? At least very close to it. The waiters, always very well educated and friendly, will bring you hot beverages as you wish (milk, coffee, cappuccino, and so on…) . We were on the 3rd floor, facing the street. Some small noise from buses or trucks could be heard, nothing serious, and not during the night. The glass doors to the balcony will do a great job of noise protection. The view from the balcony was not excellent, facing the street, but it doesn’t matter, we were not there to sit in the balcony of any hotel. We were there for tourism, we didn’t spend time in the hotel during the day. Only for sleeping. Next time I might ask for the same room on the 3rd floor. Parking lot is very convenient if you have a car. EUR20/day. Location is very good, close to good restaurants and like 10 minutes walking from Piazza Tasso and the “old town”, which has several alleys to be explored and is definitely worth a visit, especially at night. Of course there are better hotels in Sorrento. At higher prices of course. But if you’re looking for a nice and clean place to stay, excellent breakfast, be very well treated, good location, this is probably the best option or at least one of the best options in Sorrento. If one day I come back to Sorrento, I will definitely try to book a room again with Gardenia Hotel. To all their staff, thank you for being part of our remarkable and amazing visit to Italy.
