Aston Sorong Hotel & Conference Center
9.2 (96 reviews)

Aston Sorong Hotel & Conference Center ★★★★

📍 476V+J9X, Jl. Basuki Rahmat, Malaingkedi, Kec. Sorong Utara, Kota Sorong, Papua Bar, Malaingkedi

"The hotel has a great location—it's an easy walk from the airport. It's super clean and quiet if you request an interior-view room, since the exterior ones can get a bit noisy. Breakfast focuses mostly on Indonesian food, but they also have eggs, waffles, and toast (though in simple versions). The pool is nice and spacious. For the price and location, it's one of the best options for transit passengers."

"The rooms are clean and reasonably well-maintained, though showing some signs of age. Standard amenities include air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and decent WiFi connectivity. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are functional with reliable hot water."

Rylich Panorama Hotel ★★★
"Worst hotel and bad management This is my worst experience, while having travelled worldwide for 30 years ! As my flight arrived early morning in Sorong (5h30), I checked with the hotel if an early check in would be possible. They told me that wasn't guaranteed and that I should book an additional night, which I did. Upon arrival, they gave me the worst room, old and dirty, with a noise of running water in the wall, that was a 'Superior' and not a the 'Premiere' that I booked which is more expansive, without explanation. When I requested to change they told me that I had to wait until another customer leave, which means they sold and get paid twice for this room. At the end I paid a full night and only had the room at 12h30, which means I could use 1h30 of my booking and had to change room 6h after my arrival, which was not the point of paying for an extra day. Following that, I've contacted the hotel several times and never received any answers. The same apply to Agoda and their AI customer support agent that is totally useless and their Customer Support Agent that were asking for evidences, 10 days later... not sure how to do that."

Guardian Family Hotel ★★
"When I arrived I was poorly welcome as they couldn't find my booking, after 15 min of waiting instead of saying "sorry we finally found your booking" I got "give us 50K for the deposit of the key". The room as expected was tiny and didn't have windows, but the strong mold smell in the room without proper ventilation was the most problematic. At least, despite being in poor condition and absolutely not like in the pictures anymore, I had a clean bed, a warm shower and AC. Only good for sleeping a couple of hours before catching an early morning flight at Sorong Airport."
