The White Hart

The staff are absolutely amazing, the food is fantastic and the rooms... wow! When i booked i was told they only had 'small double' rooms left, i can assure you these are not 'small doubles' Both rooms were huge, with king size beds and the most modern and beautiful bathrooms. Everything you could possibly want in terms of refreshments, water, and the loveliest top quality bathroom soaps etc. This is truly a MUST stay!

This was a great find in a lovely town. The food was superb and the room very comfortable. Plenty of parking in the town too.

Everything about our stay was simply excellent. A warm welcome from all the staff continued throughout our stay. The birthday gift left in our room was particularly touching. Somerton itself is a fascinating destination, steeped in history and very beautiful. Our room was in the oldest part of the building, full of character, absolutely wonderful.

The menu is not great but pricey, that is not a problem if the quality is delivered, they need to do much better, they could easily deliver much better value on the plate. If you are offering a posh sounding beef burger for £18 it has got to look special, flowery description is not enough,

Sunday lunch at the white Hart: we have been to the white hart countless times and we would rate it highly. Today we attended for sunday lunch and that is not what we got. first of all we were not approached for drinks orders so we had to buy are own at the bar. we waited 20 mins. dinner was tasty but Luke warm at best which was manageable by adding extra gravy to heat it up. all thought roast chicken is just a chicken fillet you would buy from tesco. we had our plates cleared and waited for the server to come back to us for desserts, we waited 25 mins and we had nothing. no one even approached us for extra drinks coffee which personally i find shocking. the Bill was never brought over so again after another 10 mins i approached the bar to pay for it only to be told apologies it’s quite manic we have a big party at the back. you lost out on extra money purely because of effort to serve us. This is a real shame because normally i am only saying good things about this place. oh and we got hit with a £10 service charge without being shown my bill. mad considering the only service i recieved was when my food was put on the table.

The pub has great rooms, modern ensuite bathrooms, all the facilities you need, hairdryers, lovely bathroom vanity bottles and lotions, the kitchen serves delicious food in the super pub and dogs are welcome in some of the rooms too. Have stayed here before and wouldnt hesitate to stay again
