Outstanding
GGuest UserI would definitely recommend this apartment as it has the best location. 5 minutes away from the bus terminal and walking distance to all the tourist attractions in the city. No amenities but we don’t need any need for it. It will be good if the bathrooms are kept a little cleaner especially in the shower .. the tiles needs a little hard cleaning .. and they do not provide drinking water unless upon request.
GGuest UserLovely hotel in the heart of the city. Clean, modern rooms with proper good bathrooms. All amenities are in order. The beds are very comfortable. Attentive polite staff. Complimentary coffee and tea in the rooms. Wi fi works great! Not noisy rooms. Price quality ratio is great and fair. Supervised parking places right behind the hotel. The parking is at extra charge but assuming it would be free in the very center of the city is a little silly plus the prices are indicated from the beginning so that is fair. Overall very pleasant experience and again the location is prime to explore Skopje without having to depend on taxis. A wonderful and solid 4 star hotel that delivers everything it promises. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserReally spacious and pretty apartment. Walking distance to city center along the river. Easy check in. Just the toilet wouldn’t flush well when I was staying.
First of all, it is important to know that it is not a ship (because it never has and will never sail) but a replica of a ship, a building that was built on the banks of the Vardar River in the form of a medieval galley and fits perfectly into the architectural kitsch of the center of Skopje. The river is very polluted and there is always garbage floating on the surface, so the view from the small window of the room is actually a view of the river full of garbage. The hotel is positioned in the center, a step away from the main square and bazaar, and this is the hotel's biggest advantage. The accommodation in the room was cramped, we could hardly turn around because it is a room that, together with the bathroom, has a size of approx. 12 m2, although clients who book via the reservation platform are being misled into thinking that it is a 20 m2 room. We spent 3 nights in the hotel in October 2024. To the complaint that I asked to be determined regarding the fact that the room sizes are declared significantly larger than the actual sizes during the reservation, they responded nervously with a handful of insults without specifying this fact (or to disprove it, although it is difficult to disprove it), so probably the answer to this review will be in a similar tone. Therefore, if you don't mind being in a tiny room, this hotel may be a good choice for you, but for the same money you can undoubtedly find much better options nearby.
GGuest UserThis property was wonderful from check-in to check-out. The lovely Sandra at the front desk was very friendly and warm and gave me the tour of the room and also recommended some restaurants and tourist routes for me to take. The location is just west of the Macedonian Square, so that made seeing all the sights very convenient. The bed was large and comfortable, and the air-con was strong and made the heat of Skopje infinitely more bearable. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained as well. Overall the service and the room were both excellent and I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Skopke!
GglobetrottasThe room we had was very small, the standard room photos on the website is definitely misleading except for maybe one, then it also looked bigger than it was. Little room to set up a 2nd suitcase and that was on the floor between the table and wardrobe. The room was really designed badly. When you close the drapes, they cover the aircon unit so you have to bunch up the drapes and sit them on top to get air. There are two power points which sit above the headboard so you have to balance what you're powering on the headboard (ok for mobiles but nothing else). There is a kettle but no plug nearby so we had to use one just above the skirting in the passageway and sit the kettle on the floor. There was satchets of coffee mix and 2 green tea bags that was it. No spoons, no milk. The bathrooms heated hand rail was dripping creating a pool of water on the floor. The shower doors (which had disintegrating fittings) didn't meet therefore leaving more water everywhere after a shower leaving the floor very slippery and dangerous. There were two towels, no handtowels, no bath mat. No makeup mirror which even the small hotels have. We ended up putting our towels on the floor to mop up the water and get around without slipping. The box of tissues actually contained some folded narrow sheets resembling toilet paper. On the positive side, the location was good, our dinner was tasty however the breakfast was crowded and disorganised and with little choice. This hotel is supposed to be 5 star. I think they gave this to themselves because it was no where near that level. very tired and neglected. Would definitely not recommend.
CCraig StevenThe staff were excellent, really friendly place, and the room was just what I needed - clean, quiet, and a kettle. Great location - right beside the Old Bazaar and a short walk from the central square.
NNomad60399937342We had a great stay at Aloha Apartments in late February going into March. We had a choice of rooms when we got there, so chose a bigger one on the ground floor by the pool, which was bright, and a nice view. Obviously as it was the end of winter we didn't use the pool or sit in the garden, but for sure in better weather it must be a pleasant place to relax in. The room was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of room. The shower room was great, and there was always hot water, and clean towels whenever we needed from the hallway area. There is the entrance to a well in the room, working, I assume. The top part of it has been made into a coffee table. It's probably the most unusual feature of any apartment we've ever stayed in. Elora and George, who run the apartments, were always very welcoming and helpful with organising very good excursions and supplying a decent local taxi service. The apartments are maybe a mile or so from the city centre along the Vardar river, in an old part of the city. It's easy in the Balkans to mistake old or traditional areas as run down, but it's not, and consequently you have to see past the immediate view to its unspectacular charm: you are staying in a historic area which is more authentically Skopje than the city centre, with all its statues and grand buildings. The apartments are well situated to walk into town, though we usually got a taxi back, a ten-minute trip which costs 100-200 denar - very cheap. I liked the local dogs in the neighbourhood, who came to investigate us each time we came out of the gate, keeping a friendly distance and always strangely quiet. We really enjoyed our stay at Aloha, and highly recommend it, winter or summer.
GGuest UserThese weren’t met except by the reception staff who were excellent. The hotel is in a great location just off the bazaar. The bed and room was comfortable but the bathroom door was glass, the bath lacked a shower curtain and was really high to step up in to. Downstairs lobby has been modernised but the 7th floor where breakfast is was set up like a wedding/function venue with large tables. There weren’t many guests eating when we were so easy for us to get a table for six to ourselves.Full range of cold/cooked/ cereals/breads/cake/ delicious fruit. Swimming pool in summer is deceptive as it feels almost too hot in the room so put us off a bit. But the water was lovely and cool. Quite small so just for gentle paddling and bobbing about not for doing lengths. The shaded part of the roof top bar was closed for a separate function so there was nowhere to sit in the shade, so never tried it. Worth going up for view of the city though but a shame as it’s one of the things that attracted us to chose this hotel. Taxi from bus station was 110 dinars, just 5-10 minutes away. Try and find ‘tea street’ in the bazaar in the evening, great place for people watching with an iced coffee. It’s parallel to the hotel street about 2 or 3 streets into the bazaar. 3 hours from Skopje by bus to Ochrid town/lake. Well worth a couple of days in each place. Also did Free Walking Tours Skopje which was great and I’ve left a separate review for. Skopje is a fascinating city to visit. Ottoman history and culture north of the river, Balkan culture to the south.
