Green Grove Country House ★★★★

📍 Nr Skipton, Bell Busk

"Green Grove is in a perfect setting on a single track road and fields around, we stayed in the Whafe Dale room which was perfect, 2 homemade cakes greeted us in the fridge upon our arrival. The bed is so comfy and I slept really well, this is our 3rd visit we stayed during covid so it was nice to go back again. Zoe & Keith are fantastic hosts from the moment you check in until you check out. Breakfast is fab and you never leave hungry, I can definitely recommend Keith's porridge! We hope to return again soon."

Travelodge Skipton

Travelodge Skipton ★★★

📍 Gargrave Road A65 / A59 Roundabout, Stirton with Thorlby

"Skipton Travelodge is the perfect location for our working weekend at Skipton Auction Mart. The small hotel is quiet, despite some road noise, and suitable for much needed rest. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We book many months ahead to secure the room and stay twice each year."

The Lister Arms
9.1 (95 reviews)

The Lister Arms ★★★★

📍 Lister arms, Skipton, Malham

"Very, very nice country hotel. The accommodation is comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Insufficient: 1. The electric kettle is made of plastic rather than stainless steel. 2. We ate three breakfasts, maybe the chef made different breakfast standards are also different: the first day, enough; The second and three days, the amount was halved, my husband ordered a "full set of English breakfast" and I ordered "smoked salmon eggs", "smoked salmon eggs", bread, eggs, salmon from two to one."

Herriots Hotel ★★★★
"We like that it is 2min walk from the train station and the Leeds-Liverpool canals are behind the hotel. It was relaxing walking by the canal to the town centre. The breakfast was substantial. The staff was helpful; they served with a smiling face."

"Great stay in the heart of the National Park with information and staff support to help us get the most out of our stay. Staff went out of their way to give is access information and encourage us to do the bit extra. A pity the hostel did not serve evening meals but there was easy access to the self catering kitchen where it was very busy but everyone helped each other. There were two good pubs in the village as well which did very good meals. We borrowed a mobility scooter from the local hotel which they hold on behalf of the National Park but it is important to book it through Debbie North at "Access to the Dales.com" but we were able to get it straight away as it wasn't already booked."

Travelodge Skipton ★★★
"I was visiting from Canada and staying with my elderly parents in Blackburn when we decided to take a little overnight trip to Skipton. We chose the Travelodge Skipton and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel was excellent value for money, and what really stood out was the friendly and accommodating staff. Julie and Dylan were wonderful from the moment we arrived. During the evening, I realised I had forgotten my phone charger, and they kindly searched behind the desk to find one that I could borrow. I also asked if they had any plastic cups as we had brought a bottle of wine to enjoy in our room, and instead they found us some wine glasses! These little touches and their willingness to help were very much appreciated. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Check out was equally smooth, and Charlie was extremely helpful. As we weren’t being picked up until later in the afternoon, he kindly held onto our bags so that we could spend a few more hours exploring Skipton without having to carry them around. A big thank you to Julie, Dylan and Charlie for making our short stay so enjoyable. Friendly, helpful service makes such a difference, especially when travelling with elderly parents. We would happily stay at Travelodge Skipton again and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a comfortable, good value place to stay."

Premier Inn Skipton North (Gargrave) ★★★
"Stay was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Stayed with my son who is autistic and doesn’t cope well with unforeseen changes to routine and any problems that occur. That’s exactly what happened from arrival. I checked in to find my son’s sofa bed was not made up and had to go back to reception to request this but had to go for a walk in the meantime. We had a meal deal for dinner and breakfast. When returning to the hotel a couple of other customers had been complaining about the lack of options on the menu and that they should have been made aware of it. When I checked with the restaurant staff they said this was now back to normal as there had just been too many people. Surely you either have the items or you don’t? It then became apparent that there were only 3 members of staff, 1 in the kitchen, 1 waiting and 1 receptionist for the hotel also helping out in the restaurant due to it being a bank holiday they must have being paying enhanced rates. After waiting 15 minutes to order, we then waited over an hour without any food. I then asked what the issue was. The waiter returned a few minutes later and told me it would be a few minutes. 10 minutes later I was served a burger that was raw on the inside. Obviously our order hadn’t been prepared and I returned this, finally getting a replacement about another 10 minutes later by which time my son had finished his meal. Another 15 minutes later deserts finally arrived but by this point I had been ready to just walk out. Other customers had been complaining and had similar wait times. Breakfast the following morning was an improvement but I noticed at least 6 staff on shift which is likely why given they were back to standard rates of pay. After my stay I followed up with a complaint to guest relations and although they acknowledged everything I’d said basically tried to fob me off and said they couldn’t offer a refund. After pushing back I was offered a refund on the meals as a gesture of goodwill which is the least they could do given the experience. The fact I had to push them into that doesn’t bode well for their customer service if anything else was to go wrong and as such I cancelled a future booking with Premier Inn and won’t be using them again. My recommendation would be if you do have to stay here do not eat in the restaurant and do not commit to the meal deal in advance."
