Stunning setting, rooms very well done. Paid nearly £500 for a two night stay & was expected to pay an extra £40 per person, per visit, to access the pool. A tad unusual for an upmarket Spa hotel. Food in the wedding annex from a small separate kitchen was decent. Thanks & appreciated. Food in The View however left a lot to be desired. Lamb main course was externally prepared, delivered on a truck & reheated (confirmed by the waiting staff), desperately requiring any glimmer of flavour & seasoning. Vegetables again desperately required seasoning. Raised with staff & management at the time. Breakfast in The View was a whole different experience akin to a poorly performing branch of Wetherspoons (without the price tag). This was the worst cooked breakfast I have encountered in many many years. Cooking abilities poor, complete lack of flavour with exceptionally poor quality of ingredients. Croisant was inedible. Both toasters only toasted on one side. Eggs on toast served on one side toasted toast (how !!). Espresso coffee difficult to obtain on Sat AM & impossible to obtain on Sun AM. However I can recommend the sealed packs of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes with ambient temperature milk as the best available breakfast selection. I didn't mention to the staff as by this stage I had totally given up. The physical environment is stunning, the food offering is totally out of alignment to the marketing of a premium Country Estate & Spa hotel. Do Just Eat & Deliver deliver locally ? This may be your best option to obtain nutrition (unless able to access the wedding annex kitchen).
