All the booking sites I looked at said this was a nice hotel. We stayed at several Country Inn & Suites on this 3 week trip so I went ahead and booked a reservation. I was so disappointed in this place. we had 2 rooms. one was not cleaned from the previous guest so we were moved. The rooms were dirty, there were bugs on the floor, the air conditioner didn't work in one of the rooms. There was no ice. There was no waffle mix or yogurt for breakfast because they said they were waiting on a truck. The biscuits were stale. Luckily there was cereal and milk. Our room key didn't work as we were trying to pack up and when I asked for a new key the attendant didn't even ask my name before just handing over a key that may or may not have been my room. That made me more uncomfortable than the bugs. I DO NOT RECOMMEND staying here.

AVOID THIS LOCATION The back entry door doesn't lock, nor was our room key lock working....just push the door and you've entered. This location is horribly understaffed; this location is not secure; the breakfast attendant hadn't even showed up by 6am and the third shift desk clerk didn't see any need to prepare coffee and food items for the guests. Neither ice machine were working; the entire facility had no TV service. The only good thing was Natia, a manager at the nearby Quality, who came to assist with breakfast and attending customers' complaints....which there were many, too many!

Room had CAT PEE smell, wifi was out so no TV, Ice machine broken, bathtub caked in hard water, found a few bugs, hair on the beds. Light bulbs out, feet stuck to the carpet. Way over priced..... If they cared for the rooms like the lobby it would be amazing Room 143......

First of all, if you are used to other Country Inn and Suites, you need to know that this is not a typical franchise. It is obviously an in-progress rebranding of some other hotel chain. The hotel is located near the highway exit with other hotels and a truck stop in the area though it is isolated from town and residences. There was nothing nearby that did not require at least a short drive. The restaurant attached to the hotel was closed down. There is free off-street parking with ample space to accommodate larger vehicles. Upon arrival, we encountered confusion at the front desk. Even though we arrived at 7:00 pm and had a reservation, the room was not ready because the hotel had fallen behind in cleaning rooms. Additional staff were called in but they couldn't decide who should clean the rooms and who should staff the front desk. Other customers were also being held up. Many of the staff members were not dressed professionally. The hotel did have a large swimming pool and an exercise room with four machines. There were also onsite laundry facilities. Because clean rooms were not available, we were upgraded to a whirlpool room which we didn't want but took because it was clean and available upon check in. It was a large room with a separate bathroom (shower and tub). The whirlpool was actually in the living area. We had a large king bed, desk and chair, bench, lounge chair, mini fridge with open freezer section, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board and iron, and larger size toiletries. There was a working accessible ice machine. Ice water and decaf coffee were available in the lobby area. It was a full hot breakfast with eggs, potatoes and sausage patties, waffles, biscuit and gravy and other continental items. The internet was spotty and slow, and I overheard multiple complaints. It was quiet throughout the night despite being crowded. There was walking space around the hotel with some outdoor seating. The door keys didn't work less than 24 hours after getting them. Our room cost $124.81 with taxes and fees.

Room had a very bad smell, and was not clean. There were dead bugs everywhere along the walls, and the floors were dirty. There was long straight hairs on the bathroom floor and a spiderweb in the corner where some of the hair was. The upholstered chair was filthy and smelly. There was no soap so we had to go buy our own because the front desk clerk said they had run out of soap. The hallways hadn’t been vacuumed and the carpets in and out of our room were dirt stained. When we went for breakfast there wasn’t any, because they said the truck didn’t come in, but both kitchen doors were open, and there was clearly packaged food in boxes tossed in a very dirty floor. The kitchen floor had huge spills and there was a rotten oranges smell coming from it as you walked into the lobby. The outside of the hotel was dirty, with weeds and trash everywhere. The whole place is a mess.

The first room that we were given was not cleaned..sheets were not changed from last occupant. Fixtures in the bathroom were not cleaned. Staff changed our room with apologies that the Head housekeeper quit. We stayed 4 nights, but the sheets did not fit the mattress and kept coming off because they were not the right size. One of our towels had a hole in it. The staff apologized and gave us new sheets and towels. They still didn’t fit. The breakfast was adequate, but one morning, the hot food was totally cold..as was the coffee. We reported it to the staff. The ice machine, the dryer and the printer were all down. Plus the driveways and the parking lot were not cleaned the day after the blizzard. The Staff was friendly and tried to help us when necessary.

Country Inn and Suites has been a go to hotel over the years. This location has done some nice updates and the room amenities are fine, including a mini fridge, microwave and tv with HBO. Here’s a few concerns that I had: the only towel hook or bar was on the back of the bathroom door, the toilet paper roll was on the counter since there wasn’t a holder, some of the surfaces were dusty and the phone didn’t have a dial tone. Check in was disappointing, the women at the front desk didn’t tell us our king room wasn’t available, we were assigned two queens without notification. She didn’t tell us the Wifi password and I had to ask about breakfast hours. The breakfast was good, we had to wait about ten minutes for coffee and the attendant was slow with restocking. I would stay here again, but may consider another area hotel.

I documented the events below. Given the events, the complaint was submitted to the Better Business Bureau. This should not be a 3-star hotel. As of July 14, 2023 I have not received resolution of this complaint. It is a matter of principle at this point. Comfort Inn & Suites by Radisson- Sidney, NE - Event Log June 10, 2023: My wife and I were traveling West with my in-laws, and stopped at this hotel as it had good overall rating on google, and it was a three-star hotel. Upon arrival the clerk, Andrea, was very nice and professional. Upon entering the room, it was immediately obvious the room had not been clean. The bed was not even made. I went back to Andrea who explained the room showed it had been clean in their computer system. Andrea was very apologetic and assigned me a new room on the first floor where they originally stated there were no rooms available. I received that room, and upon entering, saw the carpet looked as if it had not been vacuumed in a week. Additionally, the toilet had fecal matter around the edge and underneath the seat; there was no toilet paper in the room; no bath towels, and it was obvious from the cup rings on the night stands they had not been cleaned. The bed was made. Upon inspection the bed linens looked and smelled clean, but the top sheet had a half-dollar sized stain. Andrea, the front desk clerk, appeared to be working alone and was clearly very busy. My wife and I were tired, so we just stayed and volunteered to clean the room. Andrea handed me a rag and orange cleaner, and we cleaned the room. I went back to get toilet paper and bath towels, and noticed the manager was now there. Andrea mentioned she had to call the manager in to assist as she had gotten overly busy and become overwhelmed. Apparently, there was a large-scale event taking place. (Seemed like a bad staffing decision if there was a known event in town.) After speaking with the manager, I got two rolls of toilet paper for our room. They still looked busy, so I asked Renee for the vacuum and offered to vacuum our floors. The manager insisted they would vacuum the floors, and she had the lone clerk, Andrea, come to our room to vacuum. The manager was not impolite, but very short and direct… not a friendly tone. This was understandable, as she was dealing with a lot of issues after being called in. Andrea came to our room to vacuum, she was apologetic and polite, and stated that we should not have to go through this trouble. She finished vacuuming and left. I went back out to get bath towels. The manager had to go into the laundry room where I saw her take some towels off the table amongst other laundry, she folded it, and handed it to me. The towels were clean, but they were on the table crumpled like they have been dried for some time. (The folded towels she handed me were extremely wrinkled.) During the course of events, I filled in the manager about the things she was not aware of, and asked if they were short staffed. She said t
