The Belmont Hotel

Went for the full afternoon tea to celebrate an anniversary. Everything about it was absolutely first class. We had a beautiful view of the sea, the tea was superb and the service friendly and efficient. We couldn't eat it all but were given take-out boxes for the rest - it was too good to leave. Excellent in every way.

Another delightful stay at The Belmont. If you are seeking to unwind, chill out de stress or whatever the latest psychobabble is, this is the place to be. An aura of calm tranquillity is all-pervading and quiet unobtrusive service and excellent dining are key to providing a relaxing holiday. Situated in an ideal position at one end of the Esplanade, a very short walk to shops and on your return coffee etc and drinks can always be enjoyed in their most comfortable lounge with panoramic views of the sea and surfers.

We stayed for three nights at The Belmont in October and had a wonderful time. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a view of the seafront. We ate in the The Belmont restaurant and had delicious and beautifully prepared food. There was plenty of choice from both the a la carte menu and the table d'hote menu which changes daily and the quality of the food was excellent. The best feature of the hotel was the service that we received. Every member of staff that we met was helpful, polite, friendly and efficient. It made our stay quite memorable and encouraged us to return.

The Belmont Hotel is beautifully situated on the seafront at Sidmouth, and we stayed for a mid week break in a deluxe sea facing room. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay. Our room was lovely, and included a bowl of fruit - most welcome, a box of chocolates and flowers, as well as the usual toiletries. Very comfy beds, giving a good night's sleep. Plenty of free parking, a porter helped with our luggage and there is a lift to every floor. All of the food was excellent, with plenty of helpful staff in the restaurants and lounge. We loved just walking across the road to the seafront and sitting in the warm October sunshine, before walking along in either direction. We had not visited Sidmouth before, and found it a really delightful place. As others have mentioned, The Belmont is not cheap, but absolutely worth the money - highly recommended and we will return!

The Belmont was a marvelous hotel to stay in. The staff were amazing & attention to detail was the best.

This is an excellent hotel. Good location. Very clean. Excellent staff. Lovely dinner You pay for what you get. Stayed one night. Not cheap but very good value for half board.the 5 course dinner with coffee was excellent.smart staff very efficient.

Always a pleasure to visit the Belmont, quality hotel and every thing about it. The Brend family do a splendid job and know all about their clients needs. Will always return to this hotel , once you have found the one you know .

Thank you to all the staff for looking after us so well. We were due to go home but it was such a lovely day we decided to see if we could stay an extra night. Unfortunately the hotel we had been in weren't accommodating although they had a room so we decided to go elsewhere So glad we did as we had a lovely one night stay at the Belmont. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. Our room wasn't ready as we arrived around 2pm which was fine as the waiters in the bar served us with a complimentary drink whilst we waited. Because we booked last minute we could only have room 101 a garden facing room. Lovely bright room with a view of the well kept garden. It was a warm night so we had the windows open and the fan on which was already provided. The only one complaint which makes this a four rating rather than a five was the security light that kept flashing on and off all night. Our evening meal was delicious, the waiters were attentive and couldn't be more helpful and efficient. At breakfast they moved us to a table by the window which was a nice surprise. Breakfast perfect. All in all a lovely one night stay and we will definitely be back here...so the other hotel has well and truly been dumped. Next time we'll stay in a balcony suite hopefully. A special shout out to Alfie the barman and Sadie the receptionist.

I have to say I have stayed in many hotels over the years both in business and leisure, The Belmont rates at the top for service, comfort and location. The staff are all absolutely wonderful and can't do enough to make your stay a perfect experience, so thank you one and all for making my husband and I feel really looked after in every way. The food is also fantastic we both enjoyed dinner and the breakfast was superb with anything you can think of, we loved the fact it was table service and not like many hotels a buffet. We will certainly be staying again hopefully in the near future.
