The Blue Ball Inn

Delicious food. We found this pub on the way back from Crealy. There was plenty of choice including a wide selection of sides, starters and sides. They also cater for children too. It's so refreshing to get a pub/restaurant that does good quality food and also serves children! I had the steak whilst my husband had the venison sausages and mash. Both meals were well portioned and tasted amazing. The chips are so crisp but fluffy, went down well for our son. Sounded like they had recently done a refurb and the new extension looked stunning. Great place for an occasion

Well this was our second time we stayed here and yet again was not let down. The staff was really helpful. We just love staying here and will go back again. The room is so good and it has got everything you need. We had a evening meal and that was fantastic good choice on the menu. Stay here you won’t be disappointed. Also great parking as well Thank you to all the staff great work you all do.

Very nice place , friendly staff , lovely room ( not too impressed with room service ) . Stacey was so lovely she is very kind & helpful . Took my mum here for a few day away , highly recommend , as we had never been to Sidmouth we both thought it was a perfect . Please sort room service out ! Xxx

What a lovely place this is , the staff and management are amazing . Food was great and accommodation very comfortable. We will definitely be booking again this year and hopefully many more years to come Thank you Blue Ball Inn for making our stay so enjoyable.

Outstanding service from Alison and the team! Followed by an amazing meal here. We arrived early and the Manager got us into our rooms earlier and was extremely friendly. Downstairs there were at least 4 roaring fires and plenty of local ciders and ales’ the team were brilliant and looked after us! We would highly recommend Staying here and eating here! I had many many ciders but the food and service was brilliant

We have eaten at this pub many times over the years when passing through Sidford and have always been delighted. However, we arrived at the pub a few days ago to find the car park almost empty, in the past its been a matter of finding a parking space. So we should have been prepared for a suspect visit, but it was lunch time and we wanted food. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, but we should have been suspicious as there were only eight customers in the pub. Two other customers warned us when we sat down that its was long wait for food. Our drinks arrived (flat Coke, I like to think presumably the first coke out the pump that day) and we placed our food order, this arrived 35 minutes later, by which time we were the last customers in the pub at 13.45. The food was basic but generally hot. We decided to avoid a desert and pay and leave. Lacking anything approaching a good pub atmosphere. In future we will drive on by.

Six friends went out for Sunday lunch. We had a lovely round table in a little side room that we loved. The food was lovely! No complaints there BUT we had to wait an hour for our mains and another hour for our pudding! There were plenty of waitress staff so I presume there wasn't enough help in the kitchen and the poor chef was working single handed. Definitely needs another chef! Shame cos we liked the food. Not sure if we would want to wait so long again!

We were met by the most friendly and welcoming staff. We then had The Valentines 3 course meal £34 and what great food it was, every course was delicious😋. I live within 10 miles of The Blue Ball and will certainly be going back to dine in the future, many thanks, 👍.

Very disappointing. Had evening meal and bottle of wine. Very small portions and too expensive; really not value for money. Asked for skin on chips’ but was served ordinary chips: when I queried this with the waiter was told ‘that’s how we serve the chips’, Would not return and could not recommend. On a positive note, the staff were very pleasant, polite and friendly.
