Amazing hotel witg super friendly staff who went over and above! Breakfas was incredible and considering the room rate an absolute deal. Thank you everyone there. I will be back for the history of the place alone!

Poor. It's hard to describe it. It's a very old hotel with a strong sense of age. The pillows are not very clean and make a squeaking sound when you walk on them.

A very disappointing room made okay by location. The pictures of the hotel you see online don’t match what you get. We were led to believe there had been some recent refurbishment but the place hadn’t been touched in years from what we saw. The carpets in the hotel are threadbare and there is a faint musty smell throughout. The building is very old and steeped in history and has obviously been very grand in its day with lots of interesting features. The bed was clean and comfortable and the towels were very good but room overall was very shabby with no comfort at all. We would have left but we knew everywhere else was booked up so made do as we had tickets for The Buttermarket. Breakfast was mediocre, coffee wasn’t nice. Staff were very scruffy but pleasant. We wouldn’t go back.

What a beautiful hotel exuding old school charm. The room was characterfull, warm and clean. The breakfast, served in a magnificent period dining room, was plentiful and of the highest quality. The staff, were absolutely brilliant, attentive, enthusiastic and very helpful. All in all a wonderful place to stay, we will return.

No restuarant, No Bar, WiFi 0.17 MBS( so no WiFi) The Hotel along the road has free Wifi - 256MBS.so this Hotel has no excuse. Its mid October outside temp day 10c Night 3c the hotel heating is turned off during the day and only slightly warm at night but not enough to warm the room - as I sit here writing a review wrapped up in a coat and still cold. Complaints go unheeded. My impression is the Hotel Owners are only interested in cutting corners at the expense of the Paying Customers.

Absolutely dreadful. Was meant to stay for two nights we lasted 10 minutes. Room 306 dismal. Hall ways and bedroom smelt, carpets thread bare, furniture dated and broken, went to reception and asked for a full refund. The place was dark with no atmosphere! Terrible place!!

My husband took me for the weekend for my birthday from 20th to 23rd, looks nice from the outside and in a good location. the room was nice and the bed was comfortable, sadly the tv was the size of a postage stamp on a very low table so that was not really watchable. Very disappointed no food or bar available, but breakfast was not too bad, lots of choice ( bit over cooked for me ) but my husband enjoyed it. Parking was fairly priced, hotel probably needs a bit of tlc, but still enjoyed my stay

Never again will I support this hotel. They cancelled our booking 3 days before our stay. Putting greed before customers. It's pride wk end so they can charge more for their rooms. Thanks alot, we've had this room booked for months. Disgusting way to be treated
