The TV didn't work something to do with the DirecTV box I power cycled it worked for a few minutes shut down. Most of the outlets were non-functional. Room seemed clean but bed smelled somewhat maybe from pets being in the room that didn't bother me much I have dogs not with me on this trip. The breakfast was nasty bread was stale, orange juice machine not working had a sign pointed to a refrigerator had couple of Sunny D jugs in it. Butter cups the plastic lids just pushed in was likely way past use by date. The butter smelled rancid was odd brownish color. The dining room was dark no lights on barely see anything in the room this was early in the morning about 6:30 am. I told the man at the desk about the TV he just shrugged went back to playing with his phone. The door in the back leading out to the parking lot was broken. Doorjamb was damaged like someone had kicked it out bent the strike plate door would not close all the way the card key lock was useless. I gave it 2 stars because they do allow pets in the rooms even though I didn't have any. I suppose it's tolerable for one night, but I would not stay longer. While it was cheapest in town about $30 more a night could have been lot better.

Overall: Remember the line 'you get what you pay for'? Well this place is true to that saying. It was a bargain. We booked it as it was close to the 'centre' of town, but when a town that is 2-3 miles long along one road, the term 'centre' is slightly irrelevant. Turns out 'most guests' are there for longer stays whilst working in the area or between homes. Reception: No complaints on arrival. We were shown to our room pretty quickly. We had a problem one evening using the electronic number pad to get back into our room which at 10pm at night was a royal PITA. We were then told the following morning that there was 'nothing wrong with the lock' which I am not sure is true. Room: See my comment in the first section. The room was perfectly fine but a bit odd in terms of layout. The bed was great but there was a whirlpool bath in the room plus a shower/bath combination and toilet in the bathroom but the sink was in a separate space by the small kitchen space where there was a microwave, a fridge freezer and a kitchen sink. Food: No food in the motel, but loads in the town. We had a great meal, albeit where the steak's were overcooked in ????? But our favourite place was The Den, or The Lion's Den to give it it's full name. I have done a separate review of it here ????? Staff: Nothing to complain or write home about. The communication with staff was fine and all our questions were answered perfectly well. Return: Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Excellent
We got there earlier than expected so bought some lunch and ate in a very nice park near Safeway. A very modest looking hotel but prove to be one of the best on our trip. Checked in and given water and cookies as BW members. Given room at the very back which proved very large and spacious. Plenty of thick towels and bedding good quality, nice bouncy pillows. A/C quiet at night so slept well. Breakfast was very good! Just about everything including toothpicks! Very nice staff and enjoyed our quick chat with lady on desk during checkout. Recommended but a pool would have been the icing on the cake. Tip : take the 260 to Fort Apache historical park. A lovely ride especially onwards from White River to the Salt River Canyon - spectacular!
GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed here two nights. Our room was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was no street noise. I would recommend this hotel to someone staying in Show Low. I liked that each side of the king-sized bed had a large nightstand with a reading light. I liked that the sink area had a small nightlight built into the electric socket. We had brought our own nightlight, but I am happy the hotel provided one. The room had one upholstered arm chair plus an upholstered swivel desk chair with no arms The seating was comfortable. (I would have preferred two upholstered arm chairs, since I ended up sitting on the bed.) I liked the desk lamp. I did not need to fumble for a switch; all I had to do was touch a pad near the base of the lamp. The lamp had settings for low medium, high, and off. I liked that the refrigerator was big enough to lay several bottles of water flat. We put additional bottles in the door rack. The room also had a microwave and a coffee maker that we did not use. I liked that the air conditioning worked and was not overly loud. I liked how the room had three layers of curtains so that you could adjust the amount of light entering the room. I liked that the room had a small closet with sufficient hangers. There was an iron and ironing board. I wish there had been a towel rack by the sink. I put the face towel next to the sink, but it got wet from sink use. The sink and its counter were conveniently located near the entryway. The bathroom contained only the toilet and the bathtub/shower. We found the bathtub drain difficult to operate. You were supposed to push a circular plate to make the stopper pop up and release. A part fell off. My husband managed to adjust it so the tub would drain. The bathroom had a motion-activated fan. Every time I walked into the room, the fan turned on. I suppose that frequent fan use helps dry out the room and prevent mold, but I found the noise annoying. What was really annoying is that the fan stayed on for several minutes after the occupant left the bathroom. I finally figured out that there was a small button that you could push to turn off the fan. Thereafter I turned off the fan every time I left the bathroom. The room had an alarm clock that we did not want to sound in the middle of the night. My husband could not get the alarm to turn to the off position, so he unplugged the clock. One morning at the hotel, we sat in the breakfast room for quite a while reading the newspaper and drinking coffee. We had other breakfast plans so we did not sample the food. I will note that the hotel had more extensive food offerings than many other mid-priced hotels. I saw cheese omelets under a heat lamp, Chobani yogurt cups, raisins, dried cranberries, chopped nuts, half and half creamer capsules, two nondairy creamers dispensers, plus other more common offerings. A staff person came by frequently to clean the breakfast room and check the coffee urns. I liked that
GGuest UserThis is an old property and has had paint not so carefully applied in most areas. It just isn't a clean and nice property. The beds are okay. The towels are rough small and the soap is pretty much non-existent, a sliver that is about enough to wash hands with. The carpets are old dirty and stained in the rooms that I have stayed in recently. The super 8 and others have a much better room rate. This however offers a made to order breakfast, but that too isn't as good as it was less than a year ago.
