We were bed and breakfast The food was good but the restaurant was chaotic! The room was very good with a nice sea view,but the room was never cleaned during the 5 days of our stay! The staff on duty always tried to be helpful but they failed to forefill any of our requests! We asked for an iron, they hunted high and low for one but never found one!! The evening entertainment was very poor ! My biggest complaint was the parking arrangements!!!! I am disabled and I was assured disabled parking which didn't exist! There was one disabled space in the hotel ,but it was no wider than any other parking space!!!. I Parked in a parking space between the designated white lines at 3pm ,when I went to go out in the evening 3 coaches had parked in the coach area blocking my exit till the next morning.!!!!

What makes this hotel so wonderful is the staff. Sarah and Julie in reception are always on hand to help, and nothing is too much trouble, and Isabel in the dining room was so lovely every morning at breakfast she made the start of each day perfect. The manager is also always around helping out and always up for a chat. It’s a hotel you have to explore, with hidden gems tucked away like the games room with ping-pong and pool table. A nice sized swimming pool is also tucked away. My room was comfortable, a good size with TV and en-suite. The bed was very comfortable. This was my second stay and I really hope to be able to go back again health allowing. I am 55 and a solo motorcycle traveller.

We were impressed by the website but disappointed with our experience. Greeted by a floral stand overflowing with dead flowers and a heavy, scraping entrance door. Ground floor bedroom opened on to patio and large garden requiring serious attention. Room had no telephone link with reception and we had to complain twice about a banging door above us .No fridge or safe. Staff were pleasant and breakfast good but just one waitress to attend to too many tables. The hotel was definitely not value for money.

The breakfast was a little slow. The table was not laid well every time there were items missing. When we arrived there was a big coach party already at the hotel, they were concentrating more on them at breakfast then the rest of there guest. Entertainment was excellent, location good, but I did enjoy my time.

This hotel was the best ever me and my nan absolutely LOVED this hotel the staff was so nice the food was excellent and the rooms were so nice me and my nan are definitely coming back we loved this place so much we can't complain about anything so I'm rating this hotel 5 STARS

The room was very spacious hotel on top of a cliff exelent views a lift takes you down to see front meals very good for adults but need a choice for kids staff very nice and helpful they could do with a fridge in rooms simon manager very friendly indeed played pool with my granson a very friendly hotel

This hotel has fab views,good food and outside lift access straight down to Shanklin promenade but more importantly the staff go above and beyond. We realised at first meal we needed to use a wheelchair at table and it wouldn't pull in close enough. The next meal a new table had been brought in just for our convenience and given plenty of room and easy access. Prior to arrival spoke to staff,as we were part of a coach trip, who gave us most suitable,accessible rooms on the ground floor. Cannot fault friendliness and helpfulness of all staff. Thankyou Lynn collier and the Chamberlain family.

Room 202 Clean and tidy hotel , withn friendly and helpful staff . Got a twin room , which was spacious . There was no single room supplement to pay. Helpful manager always comes round at breakfast to make sure everyhing is ok. Had a problem with the shower not being hot , but was fixed straight away. Only slight moan was that there was no coffee or tea served with your evening meal , unless you paid for this separately. Good choice of food , but maybe there could have been a simple option , for people who don't like fancy food . Would visit this hotel again.

Seven Friends all ladies we stayed at the Ocean View Hotel, Shanklin, Isle of Wight and we all really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel was lovely & the manager Simon made us all very welcome as well as all the staff they couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stay there. The food was lovely and the hotel was very comfortable. We would all love to come & stay with you again. Many Thanks Gill Bingham
