Hotels in University Road area, Seoul

The location is excellent for transportation. It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the subway station. If you choose to take the airport bus, 6011 is also very convenient. There are many businesses nearby if you walk out. There is a department store near the subway station. It is also a busy area at night, and the price is better than that of the scenic spots. It's cheap, and the staff is very friendly. They will ask if you need room cleaning every day. You can also just ask them for basic supplies such as water, towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Coffee, tea, and hot water are provided on the first floor. If you need it, you can also ask for it. The counter helps with ordering takeout; the soundproofing between rooms is very good, but you can hear the sound from the corridor outside the door, there is a slight smell of smoke, and it will not be cleaned under the bed.

Location of the hotel is honestly great! - The Sungshin Women’s University train station was less than a minute walk away from the hotel - The airport limousine was also nearby. Probably less than 5 min walk, so going to and coming from the airport is a breeze - The hotel being in Dongdaemun, means that every other hotspot is just 20-30min train/bus ride away with minimal interchange. That includes Gyeongbokgung palace, Ikseondong, Insadong, Namsan etc. - There are a bunch of other shops like convenience stores , bakeries, cafes, fast food restos nearby in case you need something quick. ALSO there are a bunch of other restos/bars and photobooth stores that open late at night so you’ll never get bored tbh - There’s also a Twosome in the lobby! Besides location, staff is really friendly. We’ve talked to the people at reception a few times for recommendations and just general queries and they’ve been super helpful Also the housekeepers that clean the rooms really are thorough and they also greet you if you ever bump into them :) As for the rooms, they’re pretty standard. Beds were comfy, toilet was clean and quite spacious! I also loved that there is a mini sofa in the room. Also their sockets are universal, so you don’t actually need adapters~ Overall, we definitely enjoyed the stay! Since we were only there for one week, we wanted to minimise the travel time so we could maximize the time for actual sightseeing/shopping/eating and this location hit the spot!

We enjoyed our room the most and felt that we had a good night's rest here. This is a semi budget friendly hotel that is close to the palace/park areas of Seoul. The room was clean and well appointed with two comfy beds, two good pillows per bed, a chair, cabinets and drawers to store stuff, a big tv, robes and sandals. The bathroom was nice too with good shower pressure and one of those shower valves where you can pick the temperature you want. The toilet flushed quietly and there was plenty of shower space. There are frosted windows in the bathroom which help let in natural day light but if your partner uses it at night you will see the lights come on. The location was decent but the metro was further than expected. When we booked trip.com showed us that it was 330m from Dongmyo Station but it was actually closest to jongno 5 entrance 2 which was a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The palace and Hanbok areas are very close to the hotel and there are frequent busses in the area to take you to the major attractions and areas. Nearby the hotel there are many convenience stores but there are limited restaurant options outside of coffee shops. The breakfast at the hotel was ok. We found there was a good variety but if you went too early (7:30 am) nothing was out yet and if you went later (8:30) everything was limited. The hot items were not as hot as we liked them to be despite the heaters so it might be worth getting early and getting your food when it comes out so it is nice and hot. There were scrambled eggs, fried eggs, marbled cheese the one day, stuff to make salad, an onion soup, mushroom soup, fried rice, a hot vegetable (one day it was potato and the next it was mushrooms), hot dogs, cut up fruit, bread/toaster, cut up muffins, orange juice, coffee and tea. There was enough to get by and there are pricey a la carte options. The restaurant was a little drafty when we went but it was just enough to get us started each day. The staff at the hotel were friendly and allowed us to store our baggage when we arrived early so we could go out and explore the city. When we actually checked in it was smooth and quick. The elevators are a little tricky at the hotel and you have to pay attention to which elevator is closest to you and press that button. There are two elevators but there are two separate buttons to call them so it is worthwhile looking where the elevators are and choosing accordingly. The hotel also has a coin laundry facility and a meeting area. The lobby is also nicely appointed with furniture and a small drinks shop but being there in December we wouldn't want to hang out there long.

The bathroom was so small that it was very difficult to take a shower. It was absurd that there was only a shower installed next to the toilet. All the water went out of the bathroom and they said they had to wipe it off.

It was a great stay at the hotel and I would definitely same there again! The staff were really friendly and helpful! The area was great to get food and really close to the subway station.

The hotel's facilities are modern and clean. It was a bit noisy, perhaps because it was located on the side of the road. The location is convenient as it is in a very good location.

The room is a bit small, but the daily necessities are complete. The old lady in the store is very nice.

Firstly, good location, less than 10min walk from City hall station, while there r also a few other stations which are not too far away. Walking distance to Myeongdong and to Insadong (20min). Secondly, amenities are comprehensive with bidet, water kettle, fridge and hair dryer. But fridge was very noisy so we turned it off. Bed is comfortable, I would have wished only that I have one more pillows (instead of only one). Didn't pay extra for breakfast since I preferred to eat out.
