We stayed as a couple for a single night whilst heading towards the Grand Canyon West and wanting to scratch the Route 66 urge. We choose the hotel as it was the cheapest (but still not cheap, we paid the same as we paid in LA), it was the cheapest by only about five dollars Currently, they are redeveloping the hotel. So, parts of it area an active construction site it seems. Many of the rooms are taped off and clearly not in use. They have this all on their Instagram if you want to see. From what I see, they are redecorating rather than actually doing the refurbishment it clearly needs There is a lot wrong with this hotel to be honest, which could be related to the construction, but I feel its not. The usual facilities like coffee machines, ice machines, vending machines are all missing from the hotel. You can ask for ice at the front desk. The WiFi is poor (I used my data instead), and its dirty and dated. They operate a contact free check in, you get emailed a room code. Fine. But given the lack of items in the room, there was a need to go to the front desk anyhow. For example, they gave us a single towel (we’d booked for 2 people). Apparently, they only put 1 towel in each room because some times it just 1 person. So, they are saving laundry costs, fair enough. But then you will always defeat the contact free check in. Despite the lack of guests, it was a noisy place. There was probably 3 rooms occupied at the time, and they put us all together (there were plenty of non used rooms). The walls are paper thin, so we could hear word for word the conversation from next door. They were not loud, just the walls are very thin. Luckily, they didn’t talk late, but bring earplugs if you stay here, that’s my advice. Location wise, its next to a bar (no noise came through though), but the bar wasn’t great. Its near a diner (I think the are affiliated). We chose to drive somewhere to eat instead. All in all, it was by far the worst place we stayed in 3 weeks. It wasn’t the most horrific place, and if there was nothing else in Seligman, I’d stay again. But given the plethora of other options either next door or up the road, where, there were a lot more restaurants, I’d be inclined to try any of them over the Postcard Motel
