Sadly, our recent stay at L'Auberge de Sedona left much to be desired, especially considering it's alleged five-star rating. The most glaring issue was the resort fee, which was a staggering 10% of the room rate— meaning folks that book more expensive rooms will be paying exorbitantly higher resort fees. We've stayed at a lot of properties with resort fees - never have we ever seen them be variable by guest, depending on the cost of the room! This, coupled with COUNTLESS additional charges like valet parking, resulted in over $1,000 in expenses for two nights, even though we we only dined at the hotel once (That's $1,000 in expenses outside of the $1200/night room rate). We also discovered that L'Auberge de Sedona is not part of the prestigious Auberge Resorts Collection, which might explain the discrepancies in service and overall experience (as shared by many other reviewers). In stark contrast, my previous experience at Enchantment Resort, also in Sedona, truly lived up to its five-star promise, with exceptional service and no surprise fees. For a truly luxurious getaway, I recommend Enchantment Resort over L'Auberge any day!
